  1. Always remember to change your cabin filter... this was my wife's filter... pretty boak
  2. HNNNNNNG This weekend would normally be my weekend off but doing OT unfortunately... :/ Thanks for the offer tho mate!
  3. Oh and don't get aftermarket studs either... instead of seating down they generally go straight through the holes making it impossible to tighten down.
  4. No worries mate... I used plus gas which was amazing at helping crack nuts, you will soon hate your turbo heat shield as it is a PITA!
  5. Nah doesn't make a difference... it's all near enough the same. The up-pipe i got from Savage was from a classic, fits my newage no problem. You'll need a new gasket for the header end of your up-pipe as well. I got all mine from Import car parts for a very reasonable price. Get genuine gaskets... aftermarket gaskets won't last and believe me, this isn't a job you will want to repeat!
  6. Oh you're gonna have a fun time with this! To remove the upipe, you need to take the downpipe off and the headers off. So may be a good idea to get header gaskets and both gaskets for the downpipe! If you need a hand with it, I can help if need be!
  7. Since my rocker cover gasket is leaking oil onto my headers, I now have a CEL for the o2 sensor which is hardly surprising. Found a breaker on ebay who has a bunch of o2 sensors for sale at £12 a pop. Surely worth a punt?
  8. Stunning looking car! I really like the no spoiler look :D
  9. Welcome to the club! I've heard the car culture over in NZ is pretty top!
  10. I'm sure is flapping gash senses are tingling... along with some other parts....
  11. I'm still waiting for my call back from Keith Michaels... my insurance was due back in May :D
  12. I hate it when my gash just flaps about....
  13. Eagerly anticipating the last weekend of the month... that's the next time i have free time to replace the rocker cover gasket. In the mean time, rocking about in my wife's Yaris... all 80hp of it!
  14. Yeh the resistor mod worked because it was a different error code that came up before, can't remember the code but it was for a "temperature sensor". I'll need to double check it all once I've replaced the rocker cover gasket, just annoying I'm working a lot the next few weeks so just gonna have to use the wife's car :/
  15. No problem mate... if you buy a genuine part, it's almost guaranteed to fit!
  16. I looked at them as well when i was looking for an STI scoop, decided against it as there are mixed feelings for fibreglass parts online. I ended up buying one from a breaker in blue then had it painted black, only cost 80 quid to get it painted.
  17. Yeh i think they are slightly different... Thanks anyway mate, I can get the full kit from ICP for 50 quid delivered so not too bad. Only thing now tho is I got a CEL after I did the resistor fix since i removed the temp sensor. Comes up as a P0031 which comes up as "Front oxygen (A/F) sensor heater circuit low input"... is this the one in the headers just before the up-pipe... if so, that's right where the oil is leaking so that may have damaged it. Or, read online that it's sometimes referred to as the AFR sensor, could my new fuel pump cause that?
  18. Mines a 2004 Bob WRX... will need to find out if that's for newage, if so I'll def be interested. Thanks for the info on the Turbo, i'll check and make sure it's not that that's leaking
  19. So Genuine Subaru gaskets and nothing else? Would a little grease be better to hold it in place like Scoobyghost suggested? I take it that grease poses significantly less risk?
  20. Yeh I get that as well when travelling into Edinburgh for my night shifts, which is mainly why i generally get over 300 miles to a tank
  21. Yeh new spark plugs are on my "to-do" list so will be doing them at the same time!
  22. Yeh, the up-pipe was a massive ball ache!
  23. I've taken off my airbox several times now for doing my up-pipe... i'm a pro at it now :D
  24. Cheers mate, would much rather try it myself than get my garage to do it!
  25. Yeh I can get the full gasket set from import car parts... found a guide that says to use a gasket sealant as well, that should hold the gasket in place?
