  1. Plus I think it is usually more expensive to insure an import...
  2. Ah... didn't realise your car was the non-turbo. Not overly familiar with that airbox i'm afraid.
  3. did you make sure the other end of the air box slotted in correctly? There are grooves it slots into, then you use the clips. I've had the pipercross filter before and had no issues with it being loose
  4. Yup, that will do the trick! Once you get the error code, just google it then you will find out what your issue is
  5. Yeh you would need to take the wheel off... there will be a smaller piece of plastic with a couple of those push in clips, it will be to the right of the suspension... But it seems Stants has cleared it up saying there isn't one there anyway! If the plugs are the same as the impreza, they will be on the driver side of the engine bay, next to the airbox
  6. Oh sorry, didn't realise you were talking about a Forester! I would imagine they would be the same... If the sensor in the headers is in the same place, you will have a little access port in the wheel well on the drivers side... maybe worth having a look?
  7. Lambda in the headers just before the up-pipe... EGT sensor (temperature) in the up-pipe and another lambda in the cat pipe between the downpipe and the centre pipe
  8. For an engine rebuild... a lot... few grand... I would change the coolant, do a few flushes.... new coolant in and see if it scums up again
  9. You might as well... it's not an expensive part and would save having to take the gearbox out if it fails in the future

Fingers crossed it sorts it for you!
  11. Welcome to the club!! Fingers crossed your head gasket isn't on it's way out... When was the coolant last changed? Could just be the header tank deteriorating and making a mess of your coolant

    This the one? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/01-06-subaru-impreza-sti-wrx-AVCs-cam-position-sensor-22056aa091-legacy-forester-/282147644605?hash=item41b14f64bd:g:~dAAAOSwjVVVpR7r
  13. That would really depend on what's needing fixed...
  14. It's a cracking looking car... would be a shame if you have to sell it!
  15. Where are you located? Someone on here probably knows a garage local to you that knows a thing or two about scoobys.
  16. Welcome to the club! You say it's not seen a main dealer in 25k, i assume someone else has serviced it since then? I'm sure someone else will answer your other questions... I have no clue about auto boxes :D
  17. It should burn off after a few days... but i would maybe have a look, could be your rocker cover gasket leaking. They are prone to going, especially on the drivers side due to heat from the exhaust
  18. That is pretty mocket!!
  19. Perfect, I'll confirm with the mapper when I get it booked!
  20. They add 20hp each so why not!! Nah... I watched Wheeler Dealers the other day and they were working on a bugeye, they put black racing stripes on a silver car and I thot it looked daft :D
  21. Seems like a solid set of mods and running decent power! Glad you're happy, we're a friendly bunch on here!
  22. Also remove the airbox resonator if you're running the standard intake
  23. Welcome to the club! Stunning looking classic! Any mods on it or any plans?
  24. So the o2 sensor i ordered was for the the rear section so the cable is not long enough :/ Is it possible just to get it mapped out? My rear one still works... it's getting mapped soon so thought this would be the most cost effective solution!
