More precise shifting. With a stock mount the transmission is moving slightly as you changing gears. The Cusco one is holding the transmission house very tight. Second benefit the Cusco is much stronger than the stock. The stock transmission mount is not last too long because of the poor quality :( ( Sorry to say but all the European model has this crap. The JDM version has a very similar to the Cusco its called Group N transmission mount ) Just to show the difference see below Cusco transmission and engine mount. ( Very strong and last forever ... ;) ) Stock ( You can see the nice quality of the lousy rubber ) It looks like this after 60-70K miles ):

Strongflex bushing kit is around £350 Probably the work costs a couple of hundreds too. Cusco transmission mount is around £170

I would change the bushes to Powerflex or Strongflex (strongflex is less expensive but still good quality) and the transmission mount to cusco. This is not a fancy upgrade because no one will notice but you. This is a nice upgrade to change your car handling. I would not upgrade engine or remap etc.

They are out of their mind... For this price you can get much better cars personalised for your need. I never understand why would worth a car more because of the owner.

New 2015 Sti leaking from rear-diff.....
Snoop-y replied to thehulkster699's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
Please keep us updated. What is going on? Did they sort the leaking out? If yes, how? Is this a known factory fault by now? I am asking this because my mate just ordered an STI and we want to avoid any nasty surprise :) Thank you in advance! -

Hello, and looking to buy my first Subaru :)
Snoop-y replied to ChrisValentine's topic in New Members Introductions
Well, I think is better to wait for a nicer one. Plenty more are available to buy. This country is a goldmine to get a nice Scooby ;) -
Welcome ;) You look like a very good owner. Keep going on this way. Mongoose exhausts are fine (Good quality). Have a look on Apexi, HKS, Prodrive, Kakimoto,Invidia,Greddy just to name a few big brand. Here is the list if you want some different. I have a prodrive system. It can be loud at high rev but absolutely liveable. I don't recommend anything above Buddyclub (I had a spec2 and it was extremly loud over 120dB) as they probably illegal to use in UK. loudness list from top Straight Pipe RS*R BPM Twister II ANSA Buddy Club Spec III Invidia N1 Race | Blitz nur spec R | TurboXS RFL-Ti Helix Titanium | Apex'i GT Spec Kakimoto Gt1.0z Perrin Catless Twip tip TBE JIC 505S B&B (non-catted midpipe) BPM (non-catted) GT APS 3.5" HKS Carbon TI | Skunk2 Greddy Titanium Invidia G200 HKS Hi-Power Injen Crawford Megan Racing TBE Worx Tuning APS 3" Cobb 3" | Stromung | Espelir CES Greddy EVO 2 | Greddy SP2 SPT Prodrive Borla XR-1 JDM/USDM STi Genome Axleback TurboXS (Magnaflow) Axleback Greddy EVO Tanabe Medallion Touring Borla Hush Fujitsubo Power Getter MadDad Whisper Fujitsubo Legalis Super-R | Fujitsubo RM01A STOCK

Hello, and looking to buy my first Subaru :)
Snoop-y replied to ChrisValentine's topic in New Members Introductions
Welcome ;) If I were you I would wait for an another one as this seems too risky. Maybe I am a little bit paranoid but just imagine if you need to repair the engine ( it ran without mapping who knows how long ) Try to find a stock car. If you don't mind the mods be sure every mod on the car is documented and done by a subaru professional. Ask them what oil they used when the oil and the filter were changed etc. -
You`ll be like this won`t you? :D WRC on the road Happened on Miskolc Rally between the speed sections B)
-
Your neighbors would like you too especially when you start it and its in the warming phase ( idle rev around 2000-2200RPM ) :D
-
Ehehe. I loved mine because it was a proper oldschool car Here she is:

I am sure you can find a very nice GC8. How much is your budget? If I were you I would go for a JDM version GC8 V5 or V6 STI ;)

Classic Impreza and blue leds? :o Noise level regulations: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/nisr/1999/454/regulation/66/made I have had a Buddyclub Spec II racing exhaust 120+ dB. I would not even try that in the UK. Probably the police officer would fine me after he pulled me off First mission: Find a nice example of a GC8 Get it checked No matter how they looked after it, this is an old car so needs good care. Instead of putting leds on it I would slightly mod the suspension, bushes, brakes and here you go you have one of the best and enjoyable car on the world...

brake upgrade recommendations
Snoop-y replied to nyall7's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
I am using the OEM discs on the STI. Please note that CL pads are a little noisy when you brake softly. They squeak. On my previous car I used Pagid as well. They were also fine. I never tried EBC but I`ll give it a try next. -

That is why you need proof of the installation. For example mine has all the paperwork and the Prodrive certificate. -

I use the STI. I can`t imagine myself to drive a wobbly car with soft suspension. I would get sick very quickly... -
brake upgrade recommendations
Snoop-y replied to nyall7's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
I used Carbon Lorraine pads and I can recommend them. They are bite as a wolf and they don`t need preheat. They can be used on track and road. My everyday STI has ferodo DS2000 pads. They are also great compare to the stock ones. If you don`t want to use your car on a track you can do the newage upgrade as Gambit advised above. -
Hi Mrbeefs, How much do you want for them? I could ask a couple of people in the racing club.

Well you can`t tell except if the owner is a fanatic and has all the documentation about the car ( this is very rare I know ). You have to trust in the owner and get as much info as you can about the car that you are going to buy. Just ask him or her what kind of oil he/she used? If the owner can`t tell or can`t say the proper milage when was that done just skip that car and move away. -

Don`t get me wrong. This is an advise only. An average john/mary does not even know how often the oil should be changed. And we already have arrived to a very critical point. Every turbocharged engine is very sensitive to the oil quality. -

Snoop-y replied to Noobaru88's topic in New Members Introductions
The STI version has 6 speed gearbox and bigger brakes the engine can handle more power if you are up to tuning it later. STI suspensions are better than the WRX suspensions STI differential is better So its not just the 40bhp... yes I know you can mod anything and change this and that. you do not need to hassle when you can buy it as stock. -

No offense, but do you really think a woman changed the oil every 5K ? Or just the seller says this. Where did you get that info? -
Finally the front bushes has been changed to Powerflex as well. Scooby is running like a train on a track.
