Air filter advice. Prepping for remap.
When I first got the car she was adamant it was staying standard. I had other intentions but played coy with the idea. Then we went out to a local meet and she heard the burble and she was hooked. Now she wants new wheels, STI spoiler and is happy I got the exhaust but she's being stubborn about any more mods. I'll work my way around that. Always managed it so far. [emoji57] [emoji106]

Air filter advice. Prepping for remap.
It happens all too quick. I was in a similar position. We planned my boy but never really discussed marriage. Then after thinking if you're a family you gotta share the name. I've had quite a few "I don't like this" "I won't wear that" but I'm quite blunt and tell them I don't care. It's one day just give it up for us as we would for you if we haven't already done so. I'm a right stubborn ******. I made the decision on a whim had some ppi money fall through the door so just went for it.

Heh yeah I can see that. We could've quite easily gone over. I say we, I mean she could've. The missus mum has pulmonary fibrosis so can't really travel at all. Her old man passed away Christmas before last so it's a tough time for her that's why we kinda rushed the date. Its be less than a year from engagement to wedding day.

Nah small family do. Nothing too chaotic. 50 day guest +50 in evening. I keep telling her she doesn't want me to take over. It's her day so she can plan it I'll just pay.

Got in through the door and bam with the wedding talk [emoji38] She then says to me(you'll like this). Why don't you wait to do your car when you get a tax rebate?(I'm self employed) Unbelievable!!! The cheek to suggest the car waits. So as predicted I pulled the old "enjoy it while it's there" told her if I don't do the car itll only get wasted on takeaway or some other cack I'll never use again. Unlike my damn impreza! Let me have my time women. Feels good to say that. Almost like I'm saying it to her but she's not actually here. I hope...[emoji102] [emoji41] Disclaimer: Despite what I say we do actually get on really well and she really is as bad as I make out. Shhh you'll all end up meeting her one day at nbo or some event at some point.

Never used it in my life but wouldn't mind having a Scooby *ank bank in my pocket. I've just been drooling over the old nbo pics.

Ha ha that's half my battle. My wedding is in October and I'm more interested in the car. Put it this way. There's 8k in the bank and only 6k left on wedding. But I can't have a little fun [emoji38] There has been at least 3 different Scooby bits in my lounge for the pass few weeks. I don't help myself here. Oh but it's ok her !Removed! shoes are all over the bedroom....best not get started on all that. No doubt she'll track me down here. This is like an online man shed just a lot bigger and more people in it. [emoji4]

The man maths works but it's like temporary blindness. The map IS getting done [emoji38] she just doesn't know it yet. Trying the softly softly approach first. There was a right ruckus last time when I rocked up with a turbo back exhaust [emoji32] [emoji20] I've still got a few tricks "might as well enjoy it while it's there" kind of stuff. There's always the dummy technique. I'll gradually wear here down.

I was gonna phone a dealer but maybe I won't bother. Chances are they have to wait for it to be delivered anyway.

Yeah I did but nothing come up. Even when I search for this part number it brings up a lot of American sellers but not that one. Total cost would be about £17

I'll have a chat with Duncan at race dynamix about going mafless. It's an idea. I get to excited with this and forget lots. The car is booked in to a local dyno centre Saturday. I'll update with the graphs.

Should be really added pics of the car too. I'm new to a build as you can see and that's why I was reluctant.

old system against New. on and looking lovely. Next jobs are new fuel pump and I'll have the panel filter ready for when I have it mapped. Should have added I have a 3 port solenoid ready to help control the turbo. Future jobs are a bit of bodywork tidying up. Maybe adding a front splitter. Upgrading to an sti rear spoiler and possibly some 17 oz superleggeras in gold

I wasn't going to make a build thread as I didn't have big plans for the old girl but as my mind wanders I see me working on this car for years to come. I bought her in December 2014 as a standard car with 158000 miles. Fsh and a lot of it from Subaru specialist. Just 2 owners so I knew it had been looked after and the paperwork confirmed it. I did find a small pin hole in the radiator but that was a quick job. Old rad out new rad in and job done. No harm done. The first real job was a service and freshen up. The cambelt was done 20000 miles ago but 6 years. The age was worrying me so that was done along with oil, air and fuel servicing. New water pump for good measure. The old one was in very good condition but changed none the less. I'm sure we are all the same. We want that Subaru burble. I was sadly lacking that due to the original exhaust still being in place. So I went about searching and found a lovely little system at a very good price. I did have to wait a few weeks before she went on but now I have my burble. Albeit pretty quiet but I still have the decat downpipe to go on.
