loss of power between 5-5.5k revs HELP!!!
Hi, You say you are loosing coolant and oil. So most likely the head gasket. Do a sniff test.

Should I buy this?
Seems over priced to me.

Engine oil grade
I always use 5w30 as that is what it specifies in the owner's handbook. Never had any issues. I change it every 5000 miles. Care now on 125k miles.

Taking a JDM Bugeye STi to France
They do go up at the right end. You'll have to fit the deflectors or not drive in the dark over there.

Can't you just set them low with the dial in the dash?

Fuel question - GB270
It certainly wont harm it to run on 98 RON and has the benifit of being E5 and not E10. So kinder on the fuel system.

Replace the knock sensor then.

Back firering and no power
I'd have thought more likely to be Cam or crank sensor.

Prodrive exhaust & up-pipe query
I had it remapped soon after buying the car. I don't think it did make a difference actually. Commuting it does about 28mpg. On a run down the motorway it will do 33mpg if just cruising at 80 on the clock.

Prodrive exhaust & up-pipe query
My 2003 WRX has a Prodrive back box and a stainless mid pipe but cats still standard. ECU remapped. Car runs nice. Now done 120k miles.

Calipers again!
It's much cheaper to refurb yourself if you can.

information needed
Does the wagon have a lever inside, next to the fuel flap lever, like the saloon?

possible head gasket or water pump
Have you changed the coolant recently? If not might be worth getting a sniff test to check for blown head gasket.

First Car
They both look good on the face of it but description on 2nd one is better. I suspect that's just because the dealer selling the first one is either lazy or doesn't know anything about the car. You need to see them really and check though all the receipts and service history. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk

1998 WRX STi Overheating
Wow I've never seen a blown head gasket cause bubbling like that. Did it stop? Looks more like the system purging to me, and expansion tank over full.
