  1. Is it possible that part on the thermostat has broken out and is still in the engine somewhere? Surely if you thought it was causing a problem you'd just take the whole thing out!?? Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  2. He means thermostat not pump [emoji4] Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi and welcome to the forum [emoji106]. I'd run some radflush through it and change the thermostat to start with. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  4. I used a company I found on the web a couple of years ago. You send them a photo of you locking nut and dimensions and they make you a key to fit. Sorry can't remember their name but you should be able to find with a search.
  5. Thanks. I'll have to look for those covers. The cars done 116k miles. Never had a new clutch. Gearbox oil on the dipstick looks fine and clutch fluid is fine. I change it annually.
  6. Thanks Jay. The outer CV joints are fine but how do you test the inner ones?
  7. Hi guys, I'm experiencing a lot of shaking as I let the clutch up slowly. It's pulling away and changing down when coming to a stop. Other than that the clutch works fine. No sign of slip at all and the bite point is not very high. Is this a symptom of anything in particular? Could it be CV joints? I'm planning on having a closer look tomorrow as I have a bit of vibration all the time but any advice greatfully recieved. Thanks.
  8. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have something similar with my Scooby now. I suspect the inner CV joints.
  9. Any car costs a lot of money if it goes wrong. It seems a fair price and will at least come with 3 months waranty. Buying it from a Subaru dealer is probably a good thing as they would have known what they were doing when they preped for sale.
  10. Sounds good to me. Have a test drive in it.
  11. Or break it for parts.
  12. Hi Sneek and welcome to the site. I use an Elmscan 5 connected to a laptop. Bought it several years ago from ESP automotive.com.
  13. Great. If you are going to flush the system, read threads on here about burping cooling system to get all the air out. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  14. Fill radiator first and then fill coolant tank in picture 1 and then top up expansion tank to MAX line.
  15. That has coolant in it 😂
  16. Do you have super unleaded in it?
  17. They probably didn't redo wheel alignment after changing the drive shaft. Best ask them to do it as long as they have the proper gear. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  18. Definitely worth it but shop around as prices vary widely. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  19. I'd recommend TDR in Warwick. They haven't done any work on the car other than remapping it, but they seemed to know there stuff and had several Scoobies in for work at the time.
  20. It would be worth looking at the pump. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  21. +1 with Tidgy. Have you bought the car recently?
  22. Sounds like a hole in the radiator to me. You have to remove the front bumper. Otherwise not to bad. I got a new rad from EuroCarParts last year for £70. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  23. Probably just an air pocket but keep an eye on it. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  24. Has anyone tried one of these cheap repair kits you can get from Amazon and eBay? Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
  25. Same as any car really. He should have receipts for oil and filter changes at least every 10k. Anyone else please feel free to correct me on the mileage. Personally I do mine every 5k. Can belt should have been changed at least once. Sent from my HTC Desire 530 using Tapatalk
