Recirculating dump valve
After spending some time adjusting the spring correctly I didn't have any sign of a problem on a 2014 (new design) STi, with a slight improvement in gear change..... Say that.... :-)...... And this might just be me, it does seem a little smoother with the OEM back on ;-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Recirculating dump valve
Just as a small update, I've noticed the GFB valve is rubbing on the underside of the bonnet, and seen as a I don't run it much on VTA I've removed it and returned to standard recirc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Brake Pad Choice - Help
Quick update. Just completed a day's performance car driver training at Millbrook and EBC Bluestuff NDX didn't perform too bad. A few observations from myself and the instructor though. Even after the many bed in sessions, the pads did seem to heat up very quickly, but I didn't get any brake fade. The compound does seem to be very 'grabby' and not as progressive as you might want. I have the same pad on front and back, and I managed to get the rears to lock up quite consistently, and had it step out a couple times on some straight line avoidance techniques. No big issue, but not what I expected, seemed to have affected the brake bias. I'll most likely keep them on for the time being but won't be using them again in future. Ht auto side extensions
There isn't anything fancy on the side skirts about how they are fitted, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's exactly the same for the WRX. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Just off Leeds Rd, after the VW garage. The owner used to work for another place I used for car alignment (which he did all my cars) and he's now set up on his own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have them fitted to my 2014 (new shape) STi and work well. Car came with them on so can't comment on fitting. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Had car alignment checked at new spot in Huddersfield, excellent service and top rate kit. Owner (Chong) has been doing car alignment for years, last 8 on Hunter kit. Check out Atec-Align if you need your alignment, checked, fixed or track setup :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I'd only just removed the winter tyres a few weeks earlier. Wasn't expecting the ice, just lost traction very abruptly, very lucky as you say. On my way in a bit to pick up a second set of alloys which i purchased earlier in the week, how fortunate :-) and 4 wheel alignment already booked last week for next Saturday :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Recirculating dump valve
I have a GFB as above and run it mainly on recirc, but great to have turned on when you want a good drive. I did spend some time setting up the spring on it (see GFB videos) and haven't had a problem whether on recirc or VTA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Lesson for today, summer tyres can break traction quite abruptly when you're going up hill in snow and reach a thick patch of ice. Second lesson, cars sliding backwards down hill and picking up speed isn't a great feeling :-( Thankfully after putting the car into the side against the kerb/wall it stopped sliding and very very luckily I only damaged the rear alloy. Air Oil Separator ? Worth fitting ?
Forgot to say as well, I've had to go to a single valve cover vent connection on the AOS rather than have two separate lines as I can't get two right angle fittings on the Perrin AOS now it's mounted on the right hand side of the engine bay. So I'm going to do the alternative connection of single AOS vent case connection and the Y it off to the two engine vent case connections. Also worth noting that if you need Subaru coolant I couldn't find it easily to order online and ended up getting it from local dealer for approx. £16. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Air Oil Separator ? Worth fitting ?
So they changed it on the 2014 onwards STi and it's now screwed directly into the manifold. It's also a weird size and bigger than the rest of the tubing (1/2" or 13mm) and is 5/8" or 16mm in size. So the short version is the Perrin parts don't fit perfectly on latest STi, but I have found a company who do 5/8 to 1/2 reducer to allow me leave the PCV in place, use the standard Subaru tubing and then link it into the Perrin kit. For people's future reference the company is called Advanced Fluid Solutions. 3rd time lucky next weekend :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Air Oil Separator ? Worth fitting ?
Yeah that's where I hoped it would be, didn't see it, but will double check the y pipe fitting again on next attempt :-) thanks stants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Air Oil Separator ? Worth fitting ?
In preparation for next attempt, can anybody confirm where the PCV valve is on the 2014 onwards STI. Doesn't seem to be in same point as previous generation. Is it screwed into the manifold? Or somewhere else along the chain? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
