  4. Good luck hopefully someone can come through with something
  5. Wotcha and welcome - there are a few of us other side of 40 - I cant really see it as being a midlife crisis if you have always been into cars more a case of what JNG said re prioritisation ;)
  6. Wotcha and welcome - stacks of legacy knowledge on here, create a new thread in the best part of the forum you think it relates to and you should get a response
  7. Wotcha and welcome chum - they are very different cars you are thinking of but having driven both your current Audi and a 2008 Prodrive hatch I can honestly say you will be blown away by the Subaru in comparison. so the only thing I can say, as I appreciate the BMW has it RWD attractions, is take a test drive in both and see what floats your boat, tail out naughtiness or all round performance with potential of properly sideways action (not that I am am biased in any way )
  8. Id have to match the rear arches to the front but it is a nice piece of work
  9. Wotcha and welcome - yup we have a few bikers on here as well - I myself have an old 89 exup and a kwak 250f for some mx fun :)
  10. I think the legacy would be better for bigger mileage they can come trimmed with a higher spec interior, nicer place to be over distance, def worth testing back to back with a wagon
  11. Wotcha and welcome- echo what Gambit has said - in answer to your question nothing wrong with Turbo 2000's check out what Matt is doing to his, a real beast on sensible money http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/5124-uk-v5-wagon/ http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/6316-sti-wagon-spoiler/
  12. looking good - cant tell you what the bracket is for though

sage words indeed - I concur as it is not just limited to your industry
  15. one point when you do replace the clutch skim the flywheel to ensure it is completely flat as that will increase wear on the plates

Agree with Bman there - thing I like most about the vid - the tiny green start button - its the little things :P

Dog, hats off chum - unfortunately it is the difference between having the qualification / credentials and being able to apply them in the appropriate situation and someone who has done the course so therefore they must rigorously apply the framework / theory / approach to everything. Bosh - I went for many years thinking everyone had common sense as a natural commodity - I have since learnt they dont - I have met individuals who you couldn't trust with a sharp pencil, very nice salt of the earth do anything for you types but a crayon was safer for them and super intelligent think tank boffins that you couldnt wave at across a road as they would walk straight out into the road towards you still waving oblivious to the bus heading for them. PS isnt WD40 - water displacement experiment / trial number 40 and is made from duck oil? smells almost as nice as gun oil (yummy)... but not quite.....
  18. Welocme back - sounds fair - check the underside as being an import it may not have been undersealed, Matt will hopefully be along with some sage like advice ;)
  19. does sound like a DIY job - which isn't the end of the world as you have said as it still a nice motor
  20. genuine hefty chortle

guys these posts are hilarious I bet the chap (or chapess) diligently ensuring the plastic tubing was earthed had a full ensemble of PPE head to toe flourescent gear and the area cordened off :D
  22. good luck with the sale - they obviously need a refurb but they may be just what someone is looking for
  23. Wotcha and welcome Steve!! :)
  24. Magnex manufactured a great product dont think they make ones for Subarus anymore - not listed on the website http://www.magnexexhausts.com/ Scorpion as an option as well - Imola or Suzuka tail pipe styles (both single round one larger than other) http://www.venommotorsport.com/manufacturer_product.php?manufacturer=Scorpion&category=exhaust&product=ExhaustSystems&make=Subaru&model=Impreza
  25. Wotcha and welcome - 1st place to try is the MAF sensor, disconnect it and see if the car still runs, second easy one check your earth points are good and not corroded
