dont worry about mapping just yet, sounds like you have a blockage - there isn't a piece of shipping packaging still in the FMIC is there?

not fitted one to a car yet but given the amount of stuff that gets put back into the manifold in the name of emissions reduction I can see myself doing one soon - I was looking to adopt the same simple method used on my bikes. Have the vents going to the catch tank only with the tank venting to atmosphere - mounted away from the air intake to the cabin. The oil gets retained and the pressure gets vented to atmosphere. The intake system on the car now just has external air and petrol going to the cylinder heads wrt points 1-4 above 1) what benefit? Also the positive pressure generated in normal engine operation circulates air no problem 2) so is the current industrial revolution happening in China plus cows farting 3) never had that using a catch tank with filter attached to the vent and an internal baffle 4) If you blank the feeds into the manifold and turbo inlet this becomes irrelevant - although Im not convinced of its relevance in its own right. I would start with a simple solution - even if it means two catch tanks to reduce plumbing, blank the intakes and remove the PCV

Nice one - great start to tweaking your motor - I quite like the clean look with no spoiler but Im easily pleased, splitter looks top drawer as well :)

Wotcha and welcome - there has been a thread on hear talking about what to look for buying a hatch, it includes things like door cards being thinly painted and can get scratched easily plus a load of other stuff - great car though :)

I dont see how the symptom of temp gauge going to full when you have just turned the key is linked to head gasket failure - I wonder if the ECU has crapped itself and needs a reboot as you have a dash that is lit up like a Christmas tree. I hope they can sort it out for you but it does sound like they will be willy nilly plug pulling - maybe hooked up to a more sophisticated diagnostic apparatus will turn something up

hmmm - it may something as simple as an air leak - did this all start after you gave it some beans or after the compression test? As you may have got a loose connection or a new split appeared. porting and polishing heads different story - its great if you are going the full del monte like Savage and that sleeper he has put together - it works well in conjunction with other mods but doesnt necessarily have to be done just because the heads are off

interesting the JPN model is sticking with the 2.0l engine... pity he couldnt take the rear view mirror out for the vid but liking the sound and the idea of sharper steering and throttle response sounds just the ticket

replace the other hoses but keep the pill as it controls boost so if it is removed you will need a boost controller fitted to compensate

is the car totally standard as it sounds like the temp circuit has been shorted, I wonder if the loom has been caught somewhere

Wotcha and welcome - not heard of a RWD switch - there is a switch (DCCD) that changes the drive ratio from 70 / 30 through to 50 / 50 power distribution and subaru diffs can clunk that motor looks sweet though lets us know how you get on with it

Wotcha and welcome - sorry, not had any experience with that particular model however I would go back to the dealer and ask for a test drive in the original to do back to back comparisons then point out to the staff how you think they differ

what happens if you disconnect the temp sensor? ps sorry being called away - will have to pick this up later or maybe someone else will join in - just didnt want you to feel abandoned in middle of conversation
