  1. As with the other thread - if you don't know what has been done to the engine along with all the other mods you wont know if it is high or not - turning it down to be on the safe side will not be a bad thing though. When you removed the manual boost controller what did you replace it with?
  2. That is a tidy motor would like it on my drive but circumstances dictate etc etc - good luck with the sale
  3. there are a few threads on here where engine mods for more power are discussed and the short answer is it varies as dependant on what engine you have you could be looking at a full engine rebuild to cope. but supporting mods could include the pump, injectors, map, intake, exhaust, bigger TMIC or FMIC
  4. Wotcha and welcome - great to have you onboard - any chance of some photos?
  5. hey hey - looking sharp there chap :)
  6. shame cant really blame her though
  7. great I taped it ;)
  8. Wotcha and welcome - it would be after the filter
  9. when was it aired??
  10. A bargain there for someone
  11. they keep the turbo spinning on gear changes so there is overall less opposing pressure forces acting on the turbo - which is a good thing. you wont get a genuine brand new HKS for 30 quid thread on how to tell http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/5234-hks-ssqv-dump-valve-real-or-fake/
  12. the centre is not a bad option as you get to keep the backbox you like for style reasons
  13. yup it means hello
  14. Wotcha and welcome - yup a vid may help
  15. the big wings are a straight swap as with other imprezas, a test drive beckons ;)
  16. thats a nice bit of boost you have there - interested to see the post JGM figures :)
  17. great post - I didnt think the sound was that ott - now you have sorted the scuffing try it with the same box but take a replacement in the boot just in case next time - easy enough to change over in the pits ;)
  18. Wotcha and welcome
  19. oh yes very tedious - particularly as the the horizon still comes flying towards you at the same speed :D
  20. Good luck with the sale Luca - they will definitely help with under bonnet temperatures
  21. The prodrive kit tends to be an air filter remap and sports back box - it can also include an uprated fuel pump - the turbo would be untouched as part of that kit http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/product/Impreza_WRX_2.0_2001-2002_Performance_Pack_SACC2523 I would say you have a TD04 on at the moment - Gambit et al will probably be along shortly to confirm that. When you say upgrade your turbo what are you looking for as you can get an equivalent size but better quality turbo with lower resistance internals which will reduce spool up time or are you going for more power - if so there may be other options you could consider before bolting on a bigger turbo in isolation.
  22. good upgrade - would make a nice how to thread - hint hint ;)
  23. Really sorry to hear you did end up with HG failure - Would be good to put some business this chaps way so if he would like to join the forum or have some contact details in a separate thread more than happy to make that happen
  24. No problem - ask away we wont necessarily have relevant answers but there is always random mutterings instead ;) As we dont know the history or how it was set up being modified from standard the 1.5bar could right... The larger turbo and extra plumbing of the FMIC could impact the spool up time which will give longer lag but a bigger punch when it comes in. I would suggest a good service - plugs, oil and filter, check the air filter and brake pads & discs then you have a known starting point - I would then suggest a rolling road session to see what the current performance of the car is - not for power but to see what is working and where there needs to be focus. for instance your injectors could need cleaning, petrol pump needs replacing etc first thing though - you could share some photos - feel free to set up a new thread in the impreza section for your vehicle ;)
