  1. kwik fit have kitted their places out with decent four wheel laser alignment gear - I was pointed in their direction by a former scooby owner mechanic they came in at £80
  2. sorry cant help you with that one - One of the others will be along in a bit I'm sure to point you in the right direction.
  3. dont think redex will sort it - yes I would pull the sender out and give it a service - it should be with the petrol pump so not too hard a job to complete, dependant on how old the car / mileage is consider replacing the fuel pump whilst you are there?
  4. good idea with the earth lead - yup the OCD in me would have to sort the left one out particularly as you did such a good job with the headlights :D
  5. I could live with that - would probably have to de rail the front grill
  6. £60 does indeed sound reasonable

  10. Wotcha and welcome Mike - sorry to hear you have some issues there. We have had a couple of recommendations for your area from Scooby Pete a resident in your part of the world Surrey Subaru Specalist in camberly. https://www.facebook.../surrey.subarus TFS who have moved to Aldershot hants. 01252 330366 are very good and worth the journey.
  11. Wotcha and welcome Smiler we have a subaru buying guide - it is Impreza flavoured but a lot of it is relevant across the models - when you have narrowed down your search to a more specific idea let us know and members with those models can advise - of course you are free to browse the different areas of the forum http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/ also we have a few bikers on here :)
  12. Wotcha and welcome - that is a clean motor, great colour - similar to my Kwak crosser :P
  13. its all done off a sender in the tank itself, as Gambit says it sounds like the linkage could go with a bit of a clean

Watch for bolts dropping - put a sheet / towel over your engine to catch them - mine had bolts going into top hat type nuts but they were not solid in the plastic scoop and I dropped a couple into the bay below bit of a pain to get the little buggers out again
  15.  We have both mentioned this to Steve again last week - sorry you have still not received yours yet
  16. Great read very useful - saving £90 plus in the process, appreciate you taking the time to do this :)
  17. like it :D

  19. Wotcha and welcome chum :)
  20. Great to hear :)
  21. That looks like time well spent - great result
  22. Wotcha and welcome - it is one hell of a bang when the windscreen goes like that - I hit a pheasant once that flew across me just as I was joining the motorway, suffice it to say I was well up to take off speed by then and was very awake for the next two hours of driving :D
  23. Nice bit of momentum building now ;)
  24. burnt sand smell - brakes or clutch, oil smell - possibly a leak or turbo on way out, hot rubber you may have an engine over temp issue or brake caliper seized (plus burnt sand) smell of burnt leather - its Gambit in chaps after some vigorous rubbing - good news for the rest of us - he's now stalking you :D ;)
