Legacy 3.0 fuel gauge very slow
dont think redex will sort it - yes I would pull the sender out and give it a service - it should be with the petrol pump so not too hard a job to complete, dependant on how old the car / mileage is consider replacing the fuel pump whilst you are there?

Legacy 3.0 fuel gauge very slow
its all done off a sender in the tank itself, as Gambit says it sounds like the linkage could go with a bit of a clean

scoop !
Watch for bolts dropping - put a sheet / towel over your engine to catch them - mine had bolts going into top hat type nuts but they were not solid in the plastic scoop and I dropped a couple into the bay below bit of a pain to get the little buggers out again

Burning smell after hard driving
burnt sand smell - brakes or clutch, oil smell - possibly a leak or turbo on way out, hot rubber you may have an engine over temp issue or brake caliper seized (plus burnt sand) smell of burnt leather - its Gambit in chaps after some vigorous rubbing - good news for the rest of us - he's now stalking you :D ;)
