  1. It is in Ireland i'll give you that another clue added
  2. wider track, bigger wheel bearings to dissipate any heat build up, nice fitted mats with a logo - lots of little touches here and there :)
  3. yup awesome looking wagon - hold out for the STI for your missus the difference between that and the wrx is worth it
  4. not at all - it should be all smooth, but hopefully you will crack it soon
  5. Im biased but each to their own ;)
  6. Wotcha and welcome Matt - thats a great line up you have owned, the P1 is a favourite of a few members on here and IM sure your wife will enjoy the change no end ;)
  7. The injectors may have been damaged by putting crap through them - might be worth pulling them off and having them ultrasonically cleaned and tested
  8. Its not star trek ;)
  9. I think it applies to some models and not to others in the Scooby range so it will be useful to know - according to that article posted earlier in the thread Imprezas are not as affected but Fozzies probably are possibly legacies
  10. I believe the horn is front mounted behind the grill in front of the rad, cant help with the fuse box with things like that there tends to be an additional fuse panel inside the car under the dash -- Im sure one of the more knowledgeable members can help with that one
  11. here you go...
  12. Superman - Man of Steel
  13. that was a result - it might have been something he had knocking about that he needed rid of but nice stroke of luck
  14. need to research the compound used but the DA one Miggs recommended is not as bad as a full on professional one which can take the paint off - also I have a van with a lot of surface area on for getting my technique sorted before going near a car :P
  15. looks like a great day was had :)
  16. well that will be an easy installation - hopefully the loom will be there, Paula it may pay to have a look behind the switch panel and see what unused plugs are sat there
  17. mismatched in what way - pure wear or different brands on the same left to right axis?
  18. went through my owners manual this evening, highlights are rotate diagonally front to rear every 6,200 miles. All 4 tyres to be the same brand model etc, for safe vehicle operation replace all 4 at the same time ( I believe this assumes rotation and equal wear) using tyres of non specified size detracts from controllabilitiy, ride comfort, braking performance, speedo accuracy and mile count acccuracy. Then there is a warning box with the following in 'all four tyres must be the same in terms of manufacturer, brand (tread pattern) construction, degree of wear, speed symbol, load index and size. Mixing tyres of different types sizes or degrees of wear can result in damage to vehicles powertrain. Use of different types or sizes of tyres can also dangerously reduce controllability and braking preformance and can lead to an accident.' So Subaru state it is something that can happen - a possibility perhaps but the thing is you will never be in a perfect scenario of equal grip on all four tyres at the same time for the life of the tyres so this is something you cannot reasonably counter other than the rotation of tyres but saying that dependant on your driving style you could have the rears down to the canvas in 3k and loads still left on the fronts. I will always buy worn tyres in pairs and replace damaged individuals as they arise - ill let you know if something breaks but I wont be out there with a tread guage every two minutes not when the turbo clutch and brakes are more likely to fail before the powertrain :D
  19. I would check this as this might be a US only 84001SA300 but the breaker may have the unit you are after http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-FORESTER-2003-BONNET-IN-SILVER-O1G-COLOUR-CODE-/190844681646?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c6f3abdae
  20. you got it - over to you maestro
  21. Fog lights local to you also - the part numbers 84501SA110 (Left) 84501SA100 (Right) are the same for 2003 -2005 models they are also circa $200 from the US each (so probably at least £250 in UK :D ) so if they are not cracked these could do the job. You may need to sort a switch internally so as this chap is pretty local to yourself I would go and have a look at the dash setup to see how they are operated - I know in the impreza I would need to change the light stalk on the steering column to fit front fogs on mine nearside http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-FORESTER-2003-NEAR-SIDE-FOG-LAMP-PASSENGER-SIDE-FOG-LIGHT-/281111585022?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41738e60fe offside http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-FORESTER-2003-OFF-SIDE-FOG-LAMP-DRIVERS-SIDE-FOG-LIGHT-/281111581067?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item41738e518b Brand new replacement pair from US but you will need the mountings etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USA-2003-05-SUBARU-FORESTER-REPLACEMENT-FOG-LIGHT-LEFT-RIGHT-PAIR-FREE-SHIP-/121160585788?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c35bbd23c
  22. Wotcha and welcome - given the description I would have said CV joint but I can only suggest something is catching any chance you can get it on a set of ramps that support under the body and spin the rim on full lock?
  23. nope - some similar fight scenes though (less trees) additional clue posted
  24. fuse would be the first / easiest thing to check next do to the horn itself and see if it works using a flying lead directly from a battery. If it does I would then be looking to check continuity / voltages for the horn connection to earth from steering wheel to earth point on chassis - there may be a relay involved in the circuitry somewhere. dont forget you will need the ignition on when testing - sounds silly but I made that mistake ;)
