  1. Well, I’m back! Over 3 years since I had my last Subaru (my pain in the rear Legacy GTB, I’m sure a few of you will remember). Its taken me a while to get back, life seemed to get in the way a bit, but I decided I should treat myself. So here she is... my 2003 wrx wagon. Couple of paintwork issues but engine and box seem strong, no rust to be seen and seems to have been pretty loved through its life. Hope to get back out to some shows through the season and catch up with some old faces.
  2. Hi guys, I've got my pass and ticket up for grabs as I can't make it next Sunday for various reasons (although mainly not actually owning my Subaru anymore) so if anyone wants it send me a message and I'll forward it on!
  3. Not yet :(. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Might be worth just checking the air pipe(s)? connecting to it. From what I remember they can go a bit brittle... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hello boys and girls! Apologies for my lack of appearance in recent months, it's been a busy time with work over Christmas etc etc. Anyway.... I've just made a cheeky offer on a 1.6 Impreza wagon. Not quite the beast I had before, but should be able to have some fun in it. All being well I should be back bothering you all within the week
  6. Even I had a job de-icing the car this morning, feel sorry for the rest of you! Although my difficulty could have come from not being used to it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Cheers Pete, much appreciated ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. I may have bought my Xbox because my parents bought me COD on the wrong console. Any excuse Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Bought myself an Xbox one. Only got Black ops 3 and Fifa for now. Couldn't afford the forza bundle, although that will be coming soon
  11. The mz 125s where those Russian things with the gonad busting tanks weren't they? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Welcome along! Quick tip- pay the extra for a genuine Subaru belt, otherwise they're a real pain, speaking from experience, most others tend to be half a tooth or more out which causes all sorts of headaches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Import car parts- really good. Cheap genuine parts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Luckily when I good one does appear for sale it usually appears to be close to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. No, I think loads were just left to rot in the corner fields. I remember one of my dad's uncles had one that he used just to keep straw on top of... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. One of these... There are some really cool ones about with wrx engines etc but there are a lot of rotten ones about too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. It may not be bigger, or better... But certainly older and rarer!
  18. It's been taken by a Subaru specialist in Warwick as a project car, so it'll hopefully return one day! Yeah, I've really got my heart set on a brat now, it'll probably be a few more months before I can realistically start looking. On the upside they'll be so cheap to run I can keep the Saxo too so it doesn't matter how much it breaks down I also saw a really clean justy the other day that I was tempted to buy
  19. Said goodbye to it today :(
  20. Put it on eBay last week and had a bid that met my reserve last night, which means it will be going :(. On the upside, it will mean I've got a big of money in the bank to begin looking around for a brat...
  21. Congratulations! Very best of luck with everything
  22. Welcome! Feel free to put a few pics up
  23. You're probably looking at the worse side of £500 at a garage, potentially less if it's just the rocker cover... Do it yourself at home, I think I paid £4 for a genuine Subaru cam seal, £12 for the rocker cover gasket and a timing belt would be around £30, although I'd recommend paying a bit more for a genuine Subaru one, otherwise the timing marks on the belt are half a tooth or so out which causes all sorts of headaches. Then plus oil and antifreeze to replace what you drain out.
  24. I think they're due at about 60k? If you've got no knowledge of it being done it's definitely an idea to do it. It's not a cheap job on subaru's unfortunately, local independent specialists are normally best- much cheaper than a main dealer plus you've got someone that knows subarus inside out and backwards. I tend to think of of it this way... It's much cheaper to get a belt changed than have an engine rebuilt if the old one snaps!
  25. That would be your timing belt cover... Either cam seal or rocker cover gasket. Rather annoyingly (if I remember correctly) you have to take the entirety of the cover off to remove that offside one, which also involves taking off the aux belt and crankshaft pulley. It's all done a lot more easily if you take the radiator out too. I may have made this job sound a lot worse than it actually is it's just fiddly. Plus if you can do it all yourself parts are cheap and you'll need to pop a new timing belt on while you're there, and that's always a nice thing to get done when you can
