  1. Welcome to the club. Chuck up a few pics if you've got some Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I've found a rebuild kit for the primary side, which appears to be the main offender. It's about £70 shipped from Japan, so I'll see if anyone's got a decent vf18 laying about and just do a straight swap. If that proves to be a dead end, I'll get back to you. Cheers Geoff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. There was a bit of residue before all the engine swapping and changing, but I put it down to a build up over time. I took the intercooler off and there was clean oil on both pipes and where the throttle body mates up. I suppose 20 years of use takes its toll? Mine has vf18 and 19. I'm trying to find out if it's possible just to replace the seals. Alternatively I can go bigger and better, up to the vf25/25 (I think) but that will require a map. 4. I think I managed to sort out the leak in the up pipe! On the downside, my turbos seem to be blowing a fair amount of oil through them, I've also just discovered that they can't be rebuilt. I also had the incredible luxury of working in a garage today
  5. Those things are all likely places to have some sort of leak... I'd check that plastic intake first. With your description of the "hitting a brick wall" sounds pretty similar to a boost cut- which would be caused by an overboost due to too much air getting in to the system. 6. Subaru dealers may leave you feeling like you've had your trousers pulled down a bit... Have a look for an independent Subaru specialist. They're often worth their weight in gold and half the price of a dealer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There are a few of us lurking about in the southwest... Hopefully they'll come across this!
  8. Shiny is always the better option! Plus won't it allow you full control over your boost? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Booked my Sunday ticket! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would camp, but I work Saturdays and don't finish until about 6 sometimes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I'm keen! Looks like it'll be another early start for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ooh, no. I probably won't say that again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That's the man I was looking for! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Welcome to the club. Nice looking car! Sadly I can't help you with your issue... Although I imagine there's a man that will pop along in a minute who can :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Just went to drive to the gym and noticed a strange tapping/knocking... Immediately thought the worst! Had a look around and it seems to be the n/s inlet cam pulley has come loose? Will investigate further in the light... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Welcome to the club. No such thing as a stupid question on here... Stupid answers are in abundance though! A few pictures of your car are always welcomed too :). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Halloween

I think the rugby probably played a part. I had a couple of knocks and home but forgot to get anything... Not that I could've got up anyway as the dog was sat on my lap because he's scared of fireworks.
  18. I managed to find a Haynes manual for my legacy and 99% of it isn't actually correct (probably due to it being American). Savage Bulldog's build thread has a link to some manuals at the start, which are incredibly useful! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Mine's part of a remote starting system, so nothing lights up. The remote starter also doesn't work and the instructions are in Japanese Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. They are quite fun to freak people out in car parks. They are technically illegal if you park your car on the road though and a bit of a faff to fit. Matt's advice is a much easier alternative Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Yes and no really... The bottom radiator hose should be cooler, as that's the way the coolant flows through the radiator. But to me, cold would suggest it's not flowing through the block. I'd get your water pump checked. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Wow! That's incredible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I did spot this somewhere yesterday. I don't mind what colour mine is if your numbers come up mate ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Got bored so decided drive up to Reading to visit a friend after work yesterday. 250ish mile round trip, didn't miss a beat. My head and wallet are feeling a bit sore today though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Is it just pushing it into the overflow tank? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
