  1. Well at least it seems in the ball park :-) I just wanted to be able to monitor it so I could switch it off before it eats itself if it ever goes wrong. No wonder it's a bugger to seal at 5.5bar! At least it seems all good still after a little drive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think so, about 80psi when cruising around at just over 2k, although the warm idle seems low at around 30? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The finished article. Extended the oe sender wire as it was too short and tried to put the t piece out of the way but visible to keep an eye on it. Not the tidiest but was struggling to find place for it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Managed to get to the sender, hooked all up fine, although a 24mm deep socket would make life a damn sight easier! Had a really annoying leak on one of the cone fittings, managed to get it to seal after 4 attempts and lots of ptfe. But even with my hamfisted -ness i achieved it. Definitely achievable by any novice. I just hope it stays oil tight! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. How did you get to the one under the alt? Flexi adaptor turned up today, assembled it to go in using ptfe on all the threads, but can't see an easy way to get to the oe sender unit? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The freelander1 is a terrible vehicle, weak transmission and self destructive engines on all but the td4. Also electronic faults galore. The fl2 is better designed and uses a haldex diff but is still a soft reader but a better all round product than the fl1. Can't really comment on the forester as not done a huge amount of research into them. Was tempted by the 2.5xt but engine failure stories put me off. So bought an older Impreza instead. 7. Put my pod in whilst working lol, just need to connect the power up when I get 5 mins :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. If you're near I'll be interested too :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. They have to be solenoid controlled iirc and apart from the noise are meant to be a bit pointless on a diesel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Had the ic out and access was easy but only hex bit I had was on a 1/4 drive and I didn't want to snap it or damage anything so I gave up on that! Plus turns out I needed some other bits anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Turns out I'm missing the adaptor that's meant to come with the kit! One email to scoobyworld and they're getting one out in the post, well impressed with the service! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Just tried the no 3 plug, it is tight as fook and can't get it out! Didn't wanna strip or break anything so will have to try the other method. Ran all the wires into the bay and done the boost sender etc so will hopefully have the gauges in today even if the OP isn't hooked up yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Did you have to use an adapter or did it go straight in? What sort of gauge have u got? Thanks for the prompt reply:-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I've bought the twin prosport pillar gauge set from scoobyworld (boost and oil pressure) and I'm not sure if I'm missing something? The boost gauge seems straight forward, as does the wiring (all feeds can be taken from the clock from what I can gather?) but with the oil pressure gauge there is no adaptor just a sender unit. Has anyone bought this set up and can advise how to plumb in the OP gauge? Or am I missing something? Thanks in advance :-) Martin Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. My prodrive sounds good with a straight thru centre section, makes a nice flat four burble without being too loud in the car. No idea if it would fit on a sport tho. I would imagine the bore on an na would be smaller? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I'd go for the pre just because the rfl for post 06 cars is ridonkulous! Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  17. If you could get a written quote from scooby clinic that'd be good evidence too i would imagine Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  18. Start with its not as described, and the faults were not pointed out at the time of purchase therefore you are protected under the sale of goods act. Just found this to get you started http://www.tradingstandards.uk/cgi-bin/glos/con1item.cgi?file=*ADV0003-1011.txt Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  19. You can get temp gauges for not much money, there are fitting kits available specifically for imprezas and fitting guides on line. You could pay a garage to do it for you. It'd work out far cheaper than a new engine :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Surely it would make more sense to make thirstier cars cheaper to tax and contribute more in fuel duty :-) Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  21. I got married last month-glad it's over and done with so I can spend again :-) the wrx was a wedding present to myself after saving and living like a pauper for 2 years! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Damn alcohol and t'internet... spent £300 last night on gauges and pillar pod, sti up pipe and all gaskets to get up pipe and 2nd decat on thats been on the dining table for 2 months. Oops. Good thing the wife don't look at my credit card and bank statements :-) Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  23. Like an old laguna where the bumper had to come off for a headlight bulb change. Sod that! Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
  24. If you have a fixed age for shock absorber replacement it would lead to lax attitudes on maintaining and checking them, the same as the current mot does now. Many people see an mot as a certificate of roadworthy-ness however in reality it is a minimum acceptable safety standard. Vehicle defects are probably the lowest primary cause of accidents, by far the vast majority are caused by human error. Unfortunately being human that will always be the greatest risk. Realistically roads are probably safer (serious accidents per user) than they have ever been given the huge amount of users these days, it's scaremongering that blows statistics out of proportion. Mine is a bit jittery on gear changes under hard acceleration with the Bailey on but hardly any different really and I now can't live without the sound now. I did try with the standard recirc but it wasn't the same. Seems pointless letting it spool if you can't hear it dump :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
