  1. Don't do this, check your alternator first, I did this and my battery was fine, go get it checked in a shop then test you alt Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk After a run she started fine which seems like she's charging ok,I can put a meter on the alt to check charging but I guess it's down to lack of use Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Good luck with the sale, I found it more economical to buy a 2nd banger car for work and keep the scoob on the basis that wear and tear on a banger is a lot less than doing mega miles on a scoob and insurance balances itself out. The only big cost is the road tax then. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Jump started the scoob as the battery had died after being stood for a week, if it happens again will fork out for a new batt but I imagine it's from lack of use and short journeys Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Used to use Velcro strips to hold them down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Tempted- about an hour and a half away, only problem is my car is nowt special [emoji38] Sent from the moon using telepathy
  6. Non turbo subarus are pretty tough things as long as they are maintained, just wear and tear stuff really, just make sure everything works as it should, belts and plugs have been changed as well as the oil, if it has hi lo selector make sure it works etc... And most of all enjoy! Only thing with low mileage is make sure the tyres aren't also 8 years old, old rubber isn't good (which is why condoms have sell-by dates) Sent from the moon using telepathy
  7. Probably a silly question but is there not a tensioner or adjustment? It'd be a right pig to install otherwise Sent from the moon using telepathy
  8. 2 new toyo t1-r's fitted on the front and air con recharged. Now I have ice cold blowers and slow puncture sorted :) Sent from the moon using telepathy
  9. I hear blue ones made 10bhp more due to the thermal dynamic flux wave caused by light refraction adding to increased air density, allowing for the fuel ratio to be optimised. Or I could be biased because I have a blue one. Sent from the moon using telepathy
  10. Under the steering wheel if it's the same as a blob :-) Sent from the moon using telepathy
  11. Welcome, I've always wanted a cosworth! Do love a good bugeye too tho! Don't forget the pics!! Sent from the moon using telepathy
  12. Took car to ats for a slow puncture repair, turns out there's a mini split in the bead :-( Pair of toyos on order from black circles again (will have matching tyres all round, yay!) to be fitted at ats for the same price as one tyre.....from ats. How does that work?! Sent from the moon using telepathy
  13. Took it out for a spin around some back roads, encountered far too many cyclists and people driving 20mph below the speed limit for my liking but had a few cheeky overtakes. Forgot how brutal my car feels when I don't drive it daily Sent from the moon using telepathy
  14. What's wrong with the headlights if you don't mind me asking? Sent from the moon using telepathy
  15. What readings are you getting when the warnings go off? Sent from the moon using telepathy
  16. I found that with 5-30 when hot at idle pressure could drop to 16psi, now I've changed to 5-40 it's more like 23psi. Also if it's aftermarket gauges just double check that the warnings aren't incorrectly set and going off too early. Sent from the moon using telepathy
  17. Oil getting too hot and pressure too low? Sent from the moon using telepathy
  18. To be fair I didn't even look at previous owners when I bought my scoob, was 5 owners but 60k, and about 10k of them in the last 4 years. Had the tell tale signs of being stood (tyres starting to perish but plenty of tread and a decent brand). I bought the car from a well established dealer (it wasn't actually on the forecourt at the time, was new in) whilst actually looking at another wrx, and apart from wear and tear items she's been good as gold, even doing 2000miles a month for a few months whilst working further afield. 19. All's well that ends well and looks awesome too! Sent from the moon using telepathy
  20. I had a similar problem- the cables under the steering column that need to be connected for remapping had slightly been touching and put the car in 'test mode' but that did flash the cel. Only advice I can offer is make sure everything is back the way it was, if it was working before it's highly unlikely it's something broken at the same time Sent from the moon using telepathy
  21. Mines now on a multicar policy with admiral, mods declared, along with my Toyota Avensis. Works out at 640 for both for the year. The cheapest quote for the Impreza I got was 462 with my ncb, and most companies wanted in excess of 600 for the Avensis as I had no ncb on it! Sent from the moon using telepathy
  22. Does it not come under glass? Best bet would probably be obtaining one from a breakers if not Sent from the moon using telepathy

    Hi

MAF stands for mass air flow (or similar) MAP stands for manifold absolute pressure. They're 2 different ways engine management units use to gauge airflow for fuelling purposes (I.e more air, more fuel). Previously maf's tended to reach their efficiency/accuracy limits a lot quicker than map sensors (hence why maf-less is popular for very high performance tuning). If you could tell us more about your vehicle and state of tune etc we'll be able to advise further [emoji2] Sent from the moon using telepathy
  24. Looks great with the spoiler removed (but then I'm not even a fan of the sti spoiler so what do I know [emoji85]) Sent from the moon using telepathy
  25. Mine seems to give me back ache too and my Avensis is more comfy to drive any distance, thought I was just being paranoid because of all the aches and twinges from manual labour! Let us know how you get on, I may be interested in this mod!
