  1. Hi Norrie, congrats on your XV, glad you like it. Can't help you on the part though, but it would make sense as the XV is Impreza-based.
  2. Maxed out speed in the German highway. Nice cars we drive..
  3. Hehe, I got it. Those typical rear seat little windows...
  4. Just heard from my dealer that a 96k service would cost a whopping £700! Anybody know why this one is so expensive? I do prefer a dealer service but at this price... I just touched 80K so it’s still a while off...
  5. Looks awesome!
  6. Thanks for sharing this Dogconker. Using premium diesel here as well. Car just runs smoother, more miles (average 570 per tank) and quieter. So 3 XV diesel owners share the opinion about premium diesel.
  7. Saw this on YouTube. Thoughts?
  8. I’m with you! Hands off our Scooby’s!
  9. I complimented the driver with her nice car (the white one).
  10. Ouch... how many miles did your XV have? No idea what's wrong, sorry...
  11. Tested Meguires Ultimate Polymer on a freshly cleaned XV. Super result, really brings out the deep dark blue and rain (hello August....) pearls of as promised. Recommended, if not a bit expensive.
  12. Hi, dont know about the reset, but 5W30 is OK for a diesel XV. There was a whole discussion on the XV MPG thread about the oil. Still awkward that the manual actually recommends 0W
  13. Thanks!
  14. I had that in the beginning as well with my '12 XV. What helped was running several tanks with premium diesel + change air filter. My guess is that the XV is pretty sensitive to diesel quality and the effect it may have on the injectors. Combine that with a less than optimal airflow and stalls could make sense not?
  15. I think most of us drive the diesel XV and I was wondering about the dpf regen. I used to do 80+ miles a day and believe that, at some point, the dpf regen would have kicked in. I never had the light come on actually. Now, my commute has dropped to 25 miles a day (b roads, doing 40-60 with stop start traffic) and I wonder whether I should do a forced dpf regeneration (i.e. Drive 70 in 4th for a while or so). Thoughts?
  16. Testimony to the XVs torque? 😃
  17. LOL, yep did nearly 30K in 1 year, long commute to blame. Other than an initial clutch problem, the XV beast performed great. VDC comes on when I take a speed bump a wee bit too fast :-) or during passing a flooded street section (leaving those X3 beamers stranded by the way).
  18. Hi, welcome to the forum and XV owners :). I know exactly how you feel, at first the xv felt light in the corners and not so grippy. However, after >30K I got used to trusting the car to be planted on the road. If you were losing grip btw, the VDC would surely flash up letting you know. I assume it did not. Trust me, it takes time to get used to your XV. I can't compare it to an Outlander but if the weather turns bad, the XV is one of the safest cars I have ever driven.
  19. Gave the Scuubie a thorough wash + clay + wax the other day. Shiny! Pity it doesn't last with all the pollen currently flying around..
  20. Had my 60K a while ago, was about £300 incl VAT (gulp...). What do you all think about dealer vs non-dealer services anyway? I think not all mechanics are familiar with the boxer for maintenance.
  21. Welcome!
  22. Anybody got info on a diesel model? I can only find petrol-engine info. X-Mode makes it way to the XV, yay!
  23. Shape and looka are awesome but I doubt the market version will have the same size of tyres and headroom in the back might be tight with such a sloping rear. I hope they Mirrors look kinda smallish too.
  24. Attached pdf shows some interesting testing on air filters, OEM vs K&N. Thought it might be interesting air filter test.pdf
