  1. Had bottom end rebuild on my subaru impreza classic. So far so good.
  2. Good power increase. How long did it take for the whole mapping process also how much did it cost?
  3. What are my options now?
  4. As soon as i start it a loud sound comes from the engine. Been told big end bearings have gone.
  5. Pricey for me is anything over £700. Bottom end has gone, do you know anyone who could do this? Also how much did you pay for yours?
  6. As far as i am aware it is a bare engine so possible just the bottom end. I am located in the midlands mate.
  7. Sounds like it is abit of a risk and might end up costing me even more.
  8. Hi all So the subaru impreza turbo 2000, 1999 i bought a few months ago seemed to have ran fine until the engine went and not its not running at all. I need a new engine and contacted some people who got back to me and said they have an engine from a Subaru impreza Turbo 2004/5. My question is would that engine go straight into mine?
  9. Thanks, sounds like you had a project going on and the figures are impressive. Scooby clinic i believe are pricey and i have a budget which is the cheapest option to by an second hand engine. Can an engine from a subaru impreza 2004 turbo go into a subaru impreza turbo 2000, 1999?
  10. Also have you had a full strip down and rebuild on your subaru?
  11. If i get my own engine reconditioned fully would that have an affect on it? meaning it wont perform the same or will it be more prone to breaking again?
  12. Yes i will be keeping the same injectors. The mechanic says he has done them before and they drive fine without a map. A map is only if you want the most gains out of it otherwise it will still drive. Abit clueless but still sourcing a good engine for good value.
  13. I am getting a used engine for a subaru impreza turbo 2000,1999. As I am getting my engine changed i will be upgrading my turbo to a vf 28 turbo and an STI top mount intercooler, my question is would it run fine without a map am i able to drive it as normal or do i HAVE to get a map? The person putting the engine in says it is fine and does not NEED a map any views and help.
  14. Hi all Does anyone know where you can purchase a used subaru impreza turbo 2000, 1999 engine with preferred low mileage. Cheers
  15. Hi Does anyone have any knowledge on reconditioned engines, i heard they are not the same as a second hand one or a used working one but wanted to know your views on purchasing reconditioned engines.
