Surrey Scoobies Monthly Meet 13/10/13
Tbh it was a bit of a wash out, really bad weather so attendance what it normally was. It didn't help that we're not able to park on the grass, this meant no one saw the scoobs lined up and it didn't look like a meet was on. Three of waited around for about 45 mins that called it a day. Hopefully it won't rain so bad next month. They are every 2nd Sunday of the month.

Ouch! That's a real shame, at least you'll get it fixed free. Look forward to the pics when you get it back.

Welcome along, maybe women's trousers, they're much more comfortable in the crotch and inspire confidence. Just ask Moss from the I.T crowed :)

Pic of the hatch markings by the alternator on a closed deck block. Like most have said I would break the sport, fix the wrx and sell it, find a better car to buy, sport or Turbo. You can drive pretty economically just change gear before 3k rpm as the boost kicks in just after. If you are frugal with the boost it can be done, but it easier to buy the sport if you don't want the acceleration and fun that comes with the turbo.

Blame the Euro single currency for that, all the countries who took on the Euro have to prop up everyone else. So your supporting all the crap economies in the Euro, Spain, Greece, Ireland ect. So glad we didn't sign up to the Euro.

Jay you from the Toon? Had a memorable night at the Baja Club it was about 15 years ago though. Drove from London to Newcastle in my Pug 205 Gti. Took me about 8 hours as the tracking was bad and the car shook itself to bits if you went over 60mph

TBH the cost of living looks fairly similar: Average UK salary is £2166.66 £26,000 per year Rent is Prob a bit more especially In the south of England and around London Shell V Power is about £1.44 where I live Tax and Insurance look pretty much the same. Although in the UK it will vary quite a bit depending on Location. Always found Switzerland to be a beautiful place.

Subaru a yobs car ?
I understand where TG were coming from, for a while it seemed the the scoob was the choice car of the boy racers making the progress from the Saxos and 106's taking over from the Ford Escort RS turbos. If they could get insured that is. Most had loud exhausts and dump valves and were driven to make use of them. Now thankfully they all seem to be going down the Honda civic type R route. Having said that I have noticed that in my area west London (Heathrow) the classic scooby seems to be pretty popular with young Asian's. Where as the latter Blob Hawk and shark eye seem to be 30+ white people. Still see a few mums in wagons of all styles, and the odd foz which again are 30+ white. On the whole most people seem to like scoobs, I get comments fairly regularly like nice car ect when out in mine. Don't seem to get hassled by Beemers or Audis as the hatch is pretty stealthy compared to a Blue saloon :) Wouldn't say they ever were yobs. Too expensive to insure for anyone under 30. Unless daddy pays for it. Just cars owned by enthusiasts who drove the cars in the spirt of Colin and Richard, ok that may have sideways every now and then but that's what the cars are about, not motorway rep cars.
