So this is the story
it looks like youve lost water because its trapped in the system and not circulating. If you heater is blowing warm then the airlock is after the heater matrix.], the warn air is being generated by the engine warming the trapped water in the matrix. There will be no water entering your radiator as it all trapped between the top of the rad and a point after the heater matrix. I have spent countless afternoons trying to solve airlocks on my classic, I was topping it up every day and the water was just disappearing. You've got nothing to loose except an cpl of hours draining it and refilling it yourself via the top hose and then topping up the header tank. I think you need 5 1/2 ltrs of coolant Pink stuff I belive. Bad news is if that doesn't fix it then there is a chance your head gasket may have gone. Any Mayonaise on the dip stick or in the oil?

So this is the story
Sounds like an Air lock. Scoobs are notoriuos for these. Switch the car on and then switch the heater in the cabin on. Check heater is air is warm/hot? If not its more than likley ann airlock. To clear this, when the car is cold, remove the top radiator hose and fill the system from here rather than the header tank as this is where the air lock is generated. fill up till the water is at the top of the hose. With the top hose loose, run the car up to temp and the thermostat will open and water will start to flow out the top hose. At this point reconnect the top hose and now top the engine up through the header tank. Bear in mind this is an EXPANSION tank and will only be full of water when the car is up to temp.

I'm on the IPad at home and work PC during day, tried an add blocker for iPhone buts it's a separate app based browser, pretty pants as a browser though.

Soooo many clutches, sooo many fakes.which one?
Rather than skimming the flywheel why not get a lightened one fitted while the clutch is out, I had an Exedy fitted to my classic and it made a noticeable difference in engine response.

remaps i need educating
As far as I am aware the bugeye has a re mappable ECU and if previous owner had already had it mapped you won't have to pay for the licence as that's been paid for already. £300 sounds about right for just a mapping session without paying for the licence. If I want to remap my 08STI I have to pay £500 for the licence, as it's not been done before except by dealer who has the codes anyway,

Tbh if I had the choice I would opt out of commercial advertising given the choice. If I want something I will do my own research or ask f friends or family for recommendations. You wait till Adsmart kicks in on the tele, all the ads will tailored to you and your next door neighbour will get different ads tailored to them in the same prog. Oh and I'm getting fed up with the ads for discounted trainers, I bought some K Swiss a month go. Will look into ad blockers.

Advice on Detailing car.
Someone pointed me to this system. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/werkstat-acrylic-kit-cat1.html Means you don't need a da, however it looks more like a stage further towards the end of the process. Or it's for aftercare of a detailing. I've some cash aside to get the bonnet blown over due to stone chips and need to get a cple of scrapes sorted as well. I could ask them to give it a mop as well then I can start with the protection. There was me thinking I can just buy some wax a DA and off we go this more confusing the more I look into it.

Advice on Detailing car.
Right this weekend I want to have a go at waxing the car. Bear in mind I'm not a pro and will not be doing an 18 stage ph neutrlising 25 bucket method wash :D My plan is: Snow foam. Alloy wheel foam. Wash Dry Meguiars quik detail and claybar. Wash Dry Autoglym super resin polish Autoglym gloss protection. Then wax. I was looking at some of the wax's and they all mention a priming stage before using them. I was only going to get a sample of Dodo juice as its enough for 4 cars :) The next question is I am looking at a DA http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/shop/kestrel-das6-dual-action-machine-polisher.html and wondered if this one is any good? its not going to be used every day prob only 3 or 4 times a year. ta :)

You can't remap the early cars, the ECU is locked, only option is to replace the ECU with an Ekutec, Apexi, Gems etc or a Piggy back for the existing ECU. Speak to Jolly Green Monster He can give all the options and costs involved.
