At a guess it's the u shaped bit that runs round the front of newage cars, from wishbone to wishbone, maybe subframe related ?

2008 Subaru Outback 2.0 Boxer Timing belt / Chain Gone
Hello & welcome, sorry to hear about your problems, Boxer just refers to the engine layout it's pistons are horizontally opposed (lie flat opposite each other) where as in a standard car they are standing up in the engine bay when you look at the car, If it's snapped then the only option is to pull the engine out and take the heads off as the valves will have more than likely dropped and interfered with the pistons, a complete refurb would be need to make sure there's no nasty bits of metal stuck somewhere they shouldn't be. A replacement engine may be cheaper depends on what you wnat to spend and how much the car is worth

£275 New pink box clutch kit.
Happy days, are you getting the fly wheel skimmed too ?
-
Impreza classic turbo timer.
I'm not entirely sure mate, it should go into the one directly underneath the wheel and I think it's either blue or green, I'll have a peek at mine when I get home

Best Clutch for below £400
Have a look at the exedy blue or pink Box kits, I wouldn't go for anything with two or three plates, it would be a pain to drive in traffic the blue box is supposed to be rated to a little over three hundred and the pink Box will see you right. Scooby ghost put up a link to a good priced pink Box form aztec performance

Impreza classic turbo timer.
Do you have the correct harness for it to fit under the steering column? If so run the earth to an unpainted clean metal surface, there's loads of nuts under dash you can attach with a spade connector, the handbrake wire will need to be soldered to the handbrake cable which you'll find under the armrest

suspect rear diff is Foobar'd
Hello & welcome, Mr B is your best bet for a concrete answer on the diff but as far as I'm aware any diff with the same transmission and final drive ratio from a forester or impreza will fit, i'm guuessing yours will be a 4.11 or 4.44 final drive. Can you pop open the bonnet and read the gearbox code from the vin plate on the n/s strut tower, that will assist you in finding out what box is in there it will start TY and then a load of numbers

Engine judder and cut out.
Yeah just checked lol I knew 2 and 3 related to some 02 issues just the other way around 32 is O2. Have you tried doing the stall test on the maf even if the garage had tested it and it's showing a value still may not be operating correctly

Engine judder and cut out.
Yep sounds right, off rhe top of my head it's a lambda sensor issue, will double check now though

Burning oil/rubber smell when going high speeds only
May not even be the rockers but it's fairly common. Best investagate beofre hand lol

Burning oil/rubber smell when going high speeds only
It's a pig of a job so if your handy with the spanners it's under fifty quid for both sets of gaskets and half moons. But expect lots of swearing and pain, if you can't be arsed then it's roughly an hours labour.

Burning oil/rubber smell when going high speeds only
Wear and tear they all go at some point
-
Burning oil/rubber smell when going high speeds only
Yep, due to the layout of the engine the oil pools on the side of the cam cover when cool and makes the rubber slowly go brittle with heat.
