  2. Ah well no great shakes I don't mind going to Sheffield once a month. When the weather picks up maybe some more interest, anyone seen/heard from bosh ?
  3. Tom, have a look at the sti brz concept at this year's new York motorshow
  4. Prerty much amy subaru engine will go in, you'll probably need to have it remapped after an engine swap as the injectors and things like that could be different. I've even seen the 3l engine from the outback shoehorned into the foz.
  5. The engine block it's self should fit not sure how much of the ancillaries you'll need to remove/swap over. Check the vin plate on the legacy as it will have the engine code on it.
  6. Haha well here's a wheel not very exciting
  7. If it's a classic then 2 newage have one in the up pipe depending on year, no idea what the hatch has. No matter what you'll be able to get any system you want
  8. Cheers mate I was told they may be different !
  9. Haha I know what you mean ,manage to get a remap past the misses in jan, found out I needed a new wheel the other day that plus 4 tyres ,looks like I've mashed a synchro last night too. You'll be able to uses a cheap odb scanner and the torque app on and smart phone, Filling that there's a pair of black and green wires taped up under the drivers side dash. There's a thread in the how to section, I'm done the pub so if I can I'll link to it if you can't find it
  10. Powerflow systems are about 4-500 but I had an 8 month old baby so went for something a little quieter
  11. Subarus do go outside in so could be ok, mine was 17 years old wouldn't pass emmissions though replacemnt was 700 with high flow sports cat 3" all the way through and had twin resonators in the middle it's classed as a trackday system and was built in half a day sounds nice when giving it the beans but not loud when static. As for the miss fire could be plugs as the previous owner of mine didn't change the rear ones so we're worn down so much ad they are a pain to get to so they didn't bother. Could be vac limes or something really simple, have you read the codes ?
  12. If it only had an advisory last year I can't see how the rust can be that bad in 9 months. Maybe get the car on ramps attack with a wire brush and some krust/waxoil and try and get some prevention going on. The exhausts rot from the outside so could look worse than is, Mine had the original exhaust system in place and fell apart in the middle. MR B has posted up mild steel systems for 50 quid from eBay doesn't include cats though. Powerflow do good custom units but may be a bit loud. I had one made by a company in Sheffield with a cat in and was a full system. Cost a fair wack but it's guaranteed for 25 years so I could recoup some of the cost of I decided to sell on
  13. I'd have a word with an m.o.t tester and see what they say about where it may be a fail, we had a member here a while back who was in a similar position garage told him to scrap, but he managed to get the inner and outer sill cut out and new fabrication in place the car was passed fit to drive again for a few years. Just depends how much you value and cherish the car. I feel your pain mines a 97 car and I love it to bits even though she's turning into a money pit at the mo.
  14. Hi mate, sorry to hear that sounds like a kick in the balls to say the least, Usual areas rear arches are prone, how old is she ? Chassis rails and the inner and outer sills are also susceptible to tin worm
  15. My own fault for smashing 3rd. Aways bad news when you hear that metallic ping/crunch missing a gear. If told myself if I can see out the year on that 'box maybe then see about a six speed swap
  16. Hour drive to assess the 'box if I take it steady and don't try and ram through the gears it's ok, So I reckon I'm alright may try some redline gearbox oil as it says it helps, think I may have broken a tooth off boo
  17. Ah mine came out of the pump on one side and went through the box and back into the earth on the other side, 1000miles and no problems here
  18. I guess so give it a try like I said I pulled one wire off by mistake and thought sod it and chopped the other side
  19. Same as mine, stops interference of earth to stereo. I removed it as the blue wire fell off.
  20. Think it may be the synchro so i can live with it I'll either block change & just be careful
  21. I know mate never rains etc. Can't wait to tell the misses
  22. Boot/ rear seat back can get in the way sometimes it can be reached by folding down, other people have removed it for easier access. Think i've broken my gearbox, missed 3rd twice the other day. Now I'm getting a little crunch occasionally when going from 2nd to 3rd [emoji25] Took it out this morning and was ok but this afternoon it's started again I'll keep an eye on it and maybe double De clutch in that gear for good measure
  23. Ah ok you'd have to pull the dash apart and have a look for a loose connection
