  1. they did a bug eye for the video so would probably know what amount you need if you contact them
  2. you could also get bonnet raisers, they lift the bonnet at the windscreen end which lets more are channel through the bay, they are a bit marmite though, personally i like them on a car that has the need for them, they look stupid on a 1.4 corsa lol
  3. i had some 100w H4's and was always getting flashed at, i fitted some Osram nightbreaker bulbs and that made a vast improvement, euro car parts are selling decent HID kits with a 12month warranty for £40 but sadly not the H4 fitment, as they are dipped and main beam you'd need H4-3 bulbs, ecp ones are just dipped beam in HID, not that you would need a full beam with HID's, their kits are 8000k and don't dazzle oncoming traffic like the 5&6000k ones
  4. i bought a book similar to this clicky mine has a green front and the picture of a copper with a speedgun on the selling page, i have leant it out so i can't remember exactly what it's called but one of the friends who's a police man has said there's nothing in there that's incorrect and it's surprising just how much stuff even he didn't know that is correct after he's checked up at work, mine was £25 and has given me enough confidence to actually stop at a copper doing mobile speed traps and tell them how wrong they are at what they are doing, i have done this 6 times now and every time they have moved on within minutes of me confronting them
  5. sorry to go off topic but i have to ask or i'll forget later, is it possible to go single turbo with a leggy? would it just be a case off impreza fanimold and ecu or would it be a bot more complex?
  6. i've always used v-power in my cars as i get double shell points on my card for using it, i have used normal unleaded in the past and it didn't seem to like it, if i'm somewhere without access to a shell garage and i need fuel i will just put £10 in to get me to a shell to fill up, i will never fill the tank as i used to though as the pumps actually suck fuel back in the pump when you get the click from filling up, you get charged for the fuel too when it happens, instead of filling i put at most £40 in, it's about £50-£55 to fill form empty iirc
  7. worse than waiting for xmas :o
  8. i didn't know they did the impreza in diesel, looks gorgeous in white, welcome aboard by the way, do you have any plans for modding it?
  9. if your tinting the lights i would give this stuff a go, clicky it's cracking stuff as you can see in the video, also you can better suit the colour to what you want than with tint film and fly eyes is road legal whereas tint film isn't
  10. oh and a mate of mine has a 400bhp bug eye, when he bought it as a standard impreza he removed the wing off the back and it looked so much cleaner, then shortly after upping the power he was driving down the motorway and said it got quite twitchy, he now has the sti6 style spoiler and said it's made a difference, just food for thought
  11. i was going to fit a front mount to mine and disguise it so it just looks like a radiator then fit a sport bonnet to make it look like a non turbo, the 2 smaller vents have covers on the underside so they are more a visual thing than a practical thing imo, also if you have the alloy bonnet then weight is a factor but with a steel bonnet then adding the sport bonnet won't make much difference there i have also considered buying a small universal radiator fan and fitting it to the underside of the intercooler and wiring it up to a separate switch to pull the air through when required, i suppose you could do something similar with a non vented bonnet and a top mount, also i found this ebay link for the bumper which i first considered putting the filter down into the bumper for access to cooloer air, you could however fit one and get some metal induction tubing and run the tubing to the turbo to aid that, then fit one on the other side for a cold air feed for the i/c
  12. i likey a lot, looks stunning, and welcome to the forum bud
  13. i know a few people that have been in non turbo and turbo cars with the same power as mine and they have said the way the impreza accelerates and uses the power feels so much more aggressive than anything else
  14. mine was all bent to buggery when i got it and i noticed i was using it to rest tools on when i messed under the bonnet, i knew straightening them would be time consuming so i removed the cooler and came indoors, with an old bed sheet on my knee and a small but long screwdriver i made all the fins straight(ish) again, then refitted
  15. for me it was after driving my friends plus 400 bhp monster, i has a golf with a N/A engine that was capable of keeping up with a stock uk impreza and was proper fun to drive, i went to a subie rolling road day from my mates house in his impreza, when i left his house in my car i thought something had broke, i couldn't hear the exhaust or feel the power anymore so that made my mind up to jump in and get one, i've driven some sweet cars and some powerful cars in the past but nothing has put a smile on my face like the impreza
  16. i used to get pulled every other day as the car i was driving was slammed on it's !Removed! and proper loud, most of the time it would just be the car that caused me to get pulled, i've been done for speeding twice and i saw the van and thought the road was a 40 when it was actually a 30, i looked straight at the van and knew i was under 40, then 12 mins later went past it again at 40, got 2 tickets the same day for doing 37 in a 30, i don't tend to get pulled over anymore as i got quite peeved in my first car with it happening so frequently so i brushed up on the law and my rights and have since gained friends in the police force which helps my knowledge even more the last time i got pulled i was indeed driving like a tit on a country road, didn't see an astra behind me, got to the main road and started doing the speed limit and he pulled me shortly after, he asked what speed the road was i'd been on i said 60 he asked what speed i was doing i said 59 according to my speedo, he said he was doing 90 in the bends to try and keep up with me, i pointed out how irresponsible he was as he didn't have his lights and sirens on, he got a bit irrate and told me he was going to do me for speeding, reckless endangerment and a few other things, i told him that as he was in a panda car his speedo was NOT calibrated therefore he can't guarantee the speed he was reading was correct, also he didn't have a camera on his car to record it and there was only him in the car so if he wanted to take it to court i would be happy to go and fight him there, he said as he was a copper and i was just joe public who would believe me over him, i pointed out that in my passenger seat was another person that would happily stand up in court for me as a witness and without any other evidence it would be 2 against 1, he gave me a warning and stormed off back to his car, there have been incidents like this with me a fair bit some years ago and since the last one i've had no issues, i see them following me all the time and PNC checking the car then after a few miles they turn round and go the other way when you get pulled a copper will always ask you if you know why you have been pulled, the reason they ask this is because they want you to admit to doing something wrong as then they have a reason to charge you with something with minimal proof, if the car is not a traffic car then it won't have a calibrated speedo and is unlikely to have a camera, if the officer hasn't put on his hat by the time he starts talking to you then he's basically as good as a member of the public, even in a marked car and wearing a uniform he MUST carry his warrant card, if you ask him for it he is obliged to produce it, if he can't or won't do this then report it to the nearest police station to a sergeant or higher and all the evidence will be binned against you and the charges dropped, if the car has sirens and blue lights and the occupants are in uniform but no livery you are NOT obliged to stop until a marked car takes up pusuit theres loads of rules and regs regarding mobile cameras too but that's another essay lol
  17. i love them on the classic wagons, not many knocking about, i think the standard lower spoiler gets dwarfed though, keep a look out for the sti lower one too, also as i'm only 30 mins from manchester i can go collect it for you when the auction ends if you like, that way he can't be funny about it being there for xx amount of time after the end or if your trip this way falls through i can keep it in the garage for you until you are over this way
  18. Was a lot of work in that car, so many 1 off parts like the rear arches, only the lotus carlton had the curved rear arch all others including the gsi had flat rears, the paint iirc was £15 for a pot the size of the airfix type, and the wheels looked the nuts back then but do look a bit lost now Sent from my Nexus 7
  19. Brian at cams in Blackburn Lancashire too Sent from my Nexus 7
  20. Yeh, the paint on the lower part of the carlton glowed under fluorescent lighting too Sent from my Nexus 7
  21. Got me thinking of stuff now, I have a few 3mm leds knocking about and some resistors too, I might drill a small hole in the cowling when I remove it and glue an led in at an angle to light it up, if I connect it to the interior light it will light the keyhole up when I get in, I also have an interior light time delay unit from an old car somewhere so could wire them both up, I do like me leds Sent from my Nexus 7
  22. Ok I typed impreza ignition ring light in and got just one hit, the above, I then removed the word light and got another one, I'll keep searching for you
  23. Just a quick search on the bay of e has turned up just one 121215376752
  24. There's a brand from back in the day, I remember when max power was primarily a car magazine they had a yellow Vauxhall carlton gsi 3000 that they had as a project car, that had 3 spoke anteras on, I think it lasted a week with the new owner till he drove it into a shop front Awesome wheel, would look great in a classic impreza imo, good price too, best of luck with it pal, I'd have that if I was in a situation to get one
  25. Welcome aboard fella, good to have you here and I have posted in the thread regarding lights too, if they are of any use to you I have some classic impreza facelift headlights knocking about, the reflector unit keeps coming off the adjuster screw inside so they are just being stored in the garage under miscellaneous lol I'd be happy to box one up and post it to you if you cover the cost of postage, then for any future ones you may get you've had a spare to practice on, just a thought
