Gambit Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 A big freeze is set to cause chaos with much of Britain blanketed in snow this weekend, and there has already been 'thundersnow' in areas around Manchester today. In the midst of a cold Arctic flow, the Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow for today in the North and Midlands. According to the Weather Channel, later tonight we could see as much as 10cm of snow over the western Pennines and 5cm of snow over inland mid Wales Another Met Office weather warning for Saturday says snow and ice will cause problems in Wales and from the Western coast of England as far east as London. On Saturday night a further risk of snow across mid Wales and spreading to the Midlands. And on Sunday afternoon and night there is a snow risk for South East England. Temperatures in parts of the country are also set to plunge below zero. PA Chaos: Bad weather could cause chaos on Britain's roads A Weather Channel spokesperson said: "At the moment Monday looks like a dry and bright day for much of the UK, but frosty and icy "A severe frost likely over the Scottish Highlands with temperatures in places below -10°C." It's going to stay cold with a risk of snow in the south east on Sunday and heavy snowfalls in the west on Tuesday. Getty Chill: Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales is covered with snow There is also a warning for heavy rain in the south east on Sunday and Monday, and it is set to remain frosty next week with the possibility of more snow. Another snow risk could develop over the west during Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly moving further east to central Britain.

Gambit Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 My app was saying it was coming its now updated to clear sky's :(
Dogconker Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Lol, there you go. Honestly I reckon that the millions of pounds the met office spent on their supercomputer to predict weather was !Removed! up the local pub wall. They put a weather forecast out which says snow and for the full 5 days it'll say snow and the actual day when it's supposed to snow and it's sunny the forecast changes to sunny. So basically to be weather forecaster you just actually need a window "yep it's raining, I'll change the website" they never get it right. This winter was predicted by the met office to be the coldest for a hundred years back in October, we've hit -6 so far not really starting to panic yet. Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
david1972 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 A bit of snow forecast for the Midlands in the next 24 to 36 hours. We had light showers forecast yesterday and ended up with about 5cm all told. Snowed most of the day and was enough for me to play last night [emoji6] Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
