Who's that with ? Could always try one of the companies that will install a black box to monitor your driving, also have a your mum or dad as 2nd driver, is it garaged &with a cat 1 alarm ? What area do you live in and consider how many miles you do a year, maybe look into a limited mileage policy

Sounds about right even for a gx

Yeah, that quite insane if you ask me, I could get 3 WRX's for the price :P

Yeah, I added my dad as a 2nd driver (No accidents have ever been his fault). I cannot have the car garaged as we simply don't have a garage but I selected the driveway option where it would be kept if I owned it. Max miles per year would be ~10k if I had to guess. As to the black box, I know it lowers you insurance if you are a good driver, however I am not a big fan of the idea something is monitoring me when i drive. I was also thinking of installing a Tracker on the vehicle as I heard that it helps beat down the price of insurance, and the trackers don't cost that much. ~£200 to install and ~£300 for a 5 year membership.

Could well be. I had 15k figure in mind [emoji22]

That's quite crazy, It's ~3x the value of the vehicle.

Wotcha and welcome - currently going through exactly the same exercise with my 15yr old - insurance is the issue - anything with a turbo will just be a no point exercise.

What we have found is the later sharkeye hatch 1.5r is either a 4 or 14 group dependant on who you are talking to so smaller engine UK model etc means you may be closer to getting cover at 17.

Only problem is at this point you are looking at about 4k for one but I imagine in 2 years time that may have dropped a little.

So between now and then spend teh time on the phone with brokers - online stuff will give you a start but a specialist is where you are likely to get something in place

What's the best company you guys have found, that provide a decent price, for the insurance for the hawk/sharkeye?

Haven't yet - still researching but why not start with the specialist ads in the back of Banzai or JAP performance mag - being a member of a forum helps ;)

RIP dreams of owning a Impreza as a first car :( That was for a GX Sport 05'

Hate to break it to you but you will probably have to forget owning a performance car for a fair few years until you have a few years ncb to back it up chap
