cornish6544
Car went into Eurospec performance garage for a remap yesterday it was going to be an all day job i was told as i was getting a simtek ECU fitted.Got a phone call 3 hours later saying there was a problem with the bar only reaching 0.7 then letting it all out? now i have no idea what this means but the guy told me they are keeping it till monday to try and sort it out. now i know its to do with the turbo and the boost but thats about it so if someone could explain what he is talking about and is it costing me money them keeping it longer? Already paid 650 for ecu and it was agreed 350 for the remap itself Cheers Brad
Sandals
Possible issue with the wastegate on the turbo would be my guess... but I could be wrong!!
cornish6544
If it is that would the turbo be repairable or would that mean a new one? money is tight after spending a grand on the remap lol
savage bulldogs
Could be a faulty actuator or boost solinoid opening the waste gate to soon ? they'll only get 1.2 bar from the standard map sensor unless they replace and rescale the map sensor for one off later v3 onwards If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
Scoobyghost
If they're fitting a new ecu I'd let them try to sort it first. Sounds like a sensor issue. 0.7bar is safe running mode. Failing that sounds like you're losing your pressure through some kind of air leak. Check exhaust gaskets or and boost pipes.
cornish6544
They have kept the car with them as the don't work sundays they are having another look on monday but I'm sure they will sort it I'm just worrying about the cost. Cheers for the quick response lads
