bree9482 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Hi guys, Just bought my first Scoob... :) Had it a week now, serviced it, adjusted the power steering belt, cleaned it and dropped a K&N panel filter in... Really happy, came from the VW/Audi world and cant believe ive been missing out on these cars, basic inside but boy does the noise and engine make up for that. I bought a blue 2004 WRX, FSH, Belts just done, 120k, 11 month MOT, clean interior, full turbo back catless exhaust, dump valve.. Just looking to map and get the wheels done, would not mind a high level spolier but not in a rush for that. Anyways, just a quick hello and will be contributing on the forum no doubt lol Brendan
Gambit Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Hi Brendan welcome to S.O.C Feel free to share any pictures and to get stuck in on the forum great bunch on here. Everyone's friendly some more than others but any questions ask away 1
Mark D Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Hi :) glad you like your car, you will like it even more when it starts to snow :) used to do deliveries in my legacy, after a lot of snow I got assigned the trickier ones :) only problem is sometimes you have to get out to push the car infront :( after my friend got a Impreza sport I think she stopped seeing cars as a tool, but something to enjoy and be proud of :) Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk 1
bree9482 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 Hi guys and thanks for the welcome.. Yeah unfortunately snow is a big thing in Scotland lol I will refrain from any pics right now as the wheels are in pretty bad shape, l also want to machine polish the car, but will take pics all the way and post a little mini thread once done. Ha im moving house this week so unfortubately the car will have to take a back seat, cant see the wife letting me buff the car while she lifts the couch and washing machine
Gambit Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Not seen my alloys hopefully getting them off next week or two to be sent in and professionally restored And hope the move goes well I hate moving houses
GeoffLeggy Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Welcome Brendan! Glad to see another happy owner joining up 1
bree9482 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 Yeah I'm the same, going to get my alloys refurbed very soon, going gold... the house move is a nightmare, it literally could not be any worse..
Gambit Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Ouch I know I moved nearly a year ago now god I was getting stressed
bree9482 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 i can't really moan.... the deal was, she got the house she wanted and l got the toy(scoob) l wanted, so it was a win win, little does she know I'm gonna be doing all my upgrades in the newly acquired garage, away from prying eyes... 2
Mark D Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Moving was great in the legacy, when the boot is open a little bit could hear the exhaust a lot more :D Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1

Well I'd say that was a fair trade 1
Gambit Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 The key point is don't let her know it's a good trade so makes room for mods 1
bree9482 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Aha...! it seems we may think alike... dying to get the wheels and brakes done, the wheels are fairly cheap, but the prices ive seen online for a brake overhaul is astranomical... ive git so many things l want to do and it's always the case, you want it all done at the same time lol
Gambit Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I know a chap that refurbishes brakes he's on here @cusco scooby wagon can't remember what he charged me for mine but what he does is he charges you X amount then gives you say £35 back once he's received your old ones. but good done. He can do them any colour you want. 2
bree9482 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 They are really nice..!! mines say wrx pro I think.. defi need done, really nice tho..!!
Sandals Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Welcome to the club! I got my wheels refurbished gold earlier this year... worth every penny!! 1
bree9482 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 Yeah l think the gold is the way to go..!! ill hate the calipers behind nice fresh looking wheels tho... Might need to do both at the same time, then a full machine polish... Can't wait to get stuck in, this house move and the weather is really holding me back lol
Gambit Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 WRX pro are are done by some company called Budweg they're a cheaper aftermarket caliper. Not saying they're less quality I've never used them myself and not heard anyone slag them off or praise them either 1
Sandals Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I replaced my seized calipers with WRX PRO ones... feel just the same really! 1
Gambit Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I had mine refurbished my standard ones by Cusco. But seen people with them on their cars not heard anything good or bad so I'd have to say it must be a good thing 1
