looking on the positive it is not the rear window element that is faulty so you have a loose connection somewhere

Yep, that's what I was thinking...either that or the fuse was actually gone and it just took a few to reset it [emoji848]

Being an electrican I have to ask why did the fuse blow there must have been a fault at some point to make the fuse blow .

Know what you mean. I'm not completely sure if the fuse actually blew or not. Looked ok, but was a bit scorched looking. Replaced it and then it still didn't work for a few days and now it does.

As said before, get it to a decent specialist and get them to give it a full once over. Sounds like might have an electrical grmlin as well so they can have a quick nose around see if theres anything obvious with it

Just had a local garage and mechanic I trust check it out. He's pretty big into performance cars and he said it all seems to check out. Anyways, cars running sweet as a nut now.

Just went on a little pre-Christmas shopping spree. Got myself a Pioneer AVH-X3700DAB+ radio, and also a little JDM red hazard light switch ordered 😉😊 Hoping to order some Whiteline lowering springs after Christmas 😊

Nothing major to post, everything running good (knock on wood). Changed my key ring from the OEM green to red and also the lighter bit from green to red as well. I'll post a how to in the how to section, dead easy and looks nice to match the rest of the speedo. Just need to do the climate controls now, which I hear involves soldering...and maybe sharpie colour in the DEFI's when I get really brave.

Another little boring change to the car. Bit cash strapped at the moment unfortunately so extras are going to have to wait a bit longer...

anyways just changed the background on the Pioneer. Not sure which I like the best yet, but running with the STI logo for now.

Well, look what I found digging about some old parts. 9mm Cusco oil catch can.  Just need to buy a new hose because I can't find that...anyone know the size by any chance? Haha also any ideas to clean it up a bit? 😊

Where are you plumbing it it to mate ? If off the pcv then it's a bit of a pain, off the heads it's fairly straightforward as both sides the same diameter

Was thinking of doing both? 🤔😬 Not sure if it's possible with 1 catch can. Only just found it and haven't done a ton of research into it and which is best. In saying that, should I replace the PVC if/when I do it? Heard it's a cheap, but essential part.

Horses for courses really the pcv is about 11 quid from import car parts, fairly easy to do, think yours may be in a different position than the older cars though ?

You can do all three into one can but it's not advised, saying that I know people who do do it with no problems, propper way would be to use two cans depends on how much you fancy a challenge

Under TMIC below TB I think?

Eventually I'll probably run 2 catch cans. But just found this so figured I'd put it on for time being because I can. Probably easiest to mount it to the heads first, although I've read, correct me if I'm wrong, the PCV is the better one to connect to?

Ah ok, I knew they changed the location of the pcv at some point but yours sounds like it's in the same position screwed into the tb ?

I had mine done all wrong as was catching nowt, 😂 it's now been correctly plumbed in and works like a treat, bit of a pain as not a great deal of room but if you want to run it with the pcv in place and retain a closed loop you'll need to come off the block breather underneath the i/c then into can then from can back to pcv

So my wife got a new job with a company car so it looks like I've got the Qashqai back for a bit before I hand it back in. Going to try and utilise the time to get a bit of work done that if I don't finish it on time for work it's not a massive deal. Going to try and get the catch can hooked up to the PCV for starters. Any other suggestions? Don't have a soldering iron to change the climate control LEDs unfortunately.

Some good progress , I would recommend you get a remap after you fit the intake just to be safe and to optimise those gains ;)

Yeah, planning on trying to fit it in on the 30th of May, but really need to find a decat first! Bell mouth 3" for a newage,  desperate! Going to use one of these I think for time being till I build up funds again so it'll match up to the current catback.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292084996529

then I can take it off and put a 3" cat back when I get more funds!

Or bell mouth tapering to 2.5" would work. Only problem is I'm limited on funds to get the tune...unless @Jay762 wants to come up with his Tactrix 😉😊
