Mate wants to know weather to go for the blobeye 2.0 sti or hawkeye 2.5 sti?

Let me be a bit more helpful [emoji6]. The 2.5 have had more report about head gaskets and ringland failure. The 2.0 are pretty much bulletproof. If you mate is going to be getting tuned, then depending on there budget the 2.5 can be the better engine, but that would need a rebuild.

Is he spending ALOT of money building a fire breathing 500 bhp forged engine or does he want a nice car he can mod here and there as he wishes, if the latter is true reread my first post lol

Whichever you get is going to be a money pit. Drive both and see which you/he prefers. Either car has the potential to throw up a whopping bill so buy carefully, check history etc...
