Norrie
Have any of you guys taken out a Subaru extended warranty on your car? If so how much was it and do you think it was worth it? My XV is I only 2 years old at the moment but it's done 51500 miles so will be out of warranty soon. I asked this in general subaru chat but no response. I've asked my local dealer and they didn't know and haven't got back to me yet. Thanks. Norrie.
Dogconker
I don’t know the answer to that, I had a 2013 XV and that came with a 100k / 5yr warranty. Although the last 2 yrs only covers Drive train. i was thinking of getting a generic extended warranty next year.
GGMan
Every vehicle (excluding WRX STI) marketed by Subaru (UK) Ltd is covered by a 5 Year / 100,000 mile (whichever is sooner) Limited Warranty. https://www.subaru.co.uk/explore-subaru/owners-benefits/subaru-warranty
Norrie
The bumper to bumper warranty is only 3 years or 60,000 miles. Norrie.
Tidgy
my dad was told 3 year 60k on both his 15 and 17 plate :S
Dogconker
All subaru since at least 2012 come with a 3yr warranty bumper to bumper then a drivetrain warranty extension for another 2yrs making up the 5yrs. The warranty has a 100,000 mile cap. if the dealer told you 3yr 60k thats not what Subaru are selling with the car I’d challenge that. my wife had a 2012 a 2017 and I’ve got a 2013 all of these came with Subaru standard warranty of 5yrs/100,000 miles. Norrie
Yeah but the 3 year bumper to bumper has a 60k cap hence me looking at extending it. Norrie.
Norrie
The dealership has eventually got back to me after me asking several times and apparently Subaru don't do an extended warranty.

You might be able to get cover that you want from a commercial company, although you seem to be looking for mileage extension within the standard warranty period? As I’m waiting for my car to come I’ve now looked at the warranty for the additional two years and it’s a bit pick and mix. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THE POWERTRAIN IS DEFINED AS: ENGINE: Engine Block and all internal parts Cylinder Heads and all internal parts Cam Covers Timing gears and cover, excluding belts · Oil pump and cooler Water pump Radiator Fuel pump Intake manifolds Flywheel Engine mounts Fuel Injectors turbo and Intercooler Alternator Starter Motor Air conditioning compressor (all other air conditioning parts are excluded) Power Steering Pump (all other Components related to steering are excluded) Engine sensors (excludes airflow meter) Seals and Gaskets TRANSMISSION: Case and all internal parts Torque Converter Transmission Mounts Seals and Gaskets DRIVELINE: Prop shaft Front and rear diff and internal parts Axle shafts and CV joints Seals and gaskets
