david1972 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I have a decent drive in prospect tomorrow too - the A68 then A69 across to Carlisle :D
Gaulson Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Now I've been looking around in my free time admiring turbos, fuel pumps and so on... thinking "If i just save this much I can do that..." while doing this I noticed this: http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=68&products_id=1403 I have been wanting a Boost Gauge so thought this was pretty good, any ideas?
stants Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Could probably get it cheaper elsewhere. & by buyimg the gauge and pod individually. I don't have this brand of gauge but plenty others do
Gaulson Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Had a quick browse on eBay and found said boost gauge and a pod... Boost Gauge - £46 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Prosport-52mm-Super-Green-White-Turbo-Boost-Gauge-BAR-Stepper-Motor-Version-/371049935371?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item56644cb20b Pod - £33 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-52mm-Single-A-pillar-pod-New-Age-Impreza-/161054018204?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item257f914a9c So yeah it's cheaper to do it via eBay :)
Gambit Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I went with the prosport evo gauges just because I like the start up display :D and read it's more accurate with it being digital, if it is or not I'm not sure. I know a few people who have them and like Stants said I would shop around I think you could price it up cheaper on Fleebay 1
stants Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 May as well get yourself one of these http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Add-A-Circuit-Fuse-Tap-Piggy-Back-MINI-Blade-Fuse-Holder-ATM-APM-12v-24v-volt-/180735824927 Save fiddleing with a perm live source :-) just use one in fuse box 1
Gaulson Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I didn't realise the Prosport gauge has a start up, just had a look on youtube at them and they are great. It's the little things in life ay ;)
Gambit Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Yep I have a noobtube video on there of them after I 1st fitted them :)
Dogconker Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 You've got a boobtube!! Sorry my mistake[emoji39] Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk 1
Gambit Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I can turn a blind eye well and open eye to that ;)
hilli182 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Fitted a new knock sensor over weekend ordering new maf today and reinstalled original air filter . Anybody else use impreza as everyday car? What millage to a tank are people getting ?
tje Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I drive mine daily. It's a 2.0r sport hawkeye so no turbo. I was getting 280ish out if a tank of regular, but am getting more miles out of higher octane fuel. Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
Gaulson Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Not sure if mine is running well then, unless its my roads but I get about 270 to a tank... that's with fuel light just coming on. So might be 20 miles left in it I guess
Gambit Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I use mine everyday. If I'm honest I just close my eyes when I look at the fuel I couldn't tell you what MPG I get :D I did have it on the OBDII reader once and did see I got it to 31.5 MPG driving very slow everywhere. and then I was booting it around private roads and had it almost to 11mpg
tje Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I've not got it as low for the orange light to come on yet. Those miles are including some progressive/spirted drives Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
stants Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 21ish mpg round town 32mpg motorway driving :-) 1
hilli182 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I've not done the maths for mpg but I run tesco 99 Ron in my classic turbo usually and get 200-250 a tank but I've read about faulty maf give bad mpg not sure how true this is though
savage bulldogs Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I use my 1300 cdti van every day does about 160 mls to £20 :-) Only done 6k mls in the scoob in the 3yrs I've owned it but I get about 18 smiles per gallon :-D well mabye a bit less than that during the mapping session today ;-)
Gaulson Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 My mpg on the way home wasn't that good as I had a race with a Honda Prelude from my village... he's faster! Didn't realise it was that quick, I was going all out on the straight and it was getting closer and closer lol. He flashed his hazzards and gave me a thumbs up when he turned off :) . Will ask him what he's running when I see him around
Dogconker Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Averaged 62 mpg including a thrash home, car said I'd averaged 78 on the way out. [emoji41] Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk 2
david1972 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 All my goodies are here now...oh look, a bank holiday weekend...hmmm. Dealer called to say touch up paint has arrived at just over£11....happy with that [emoji2] Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk 1
Gaulson Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Some BMW overtook me on the way home today, wasn't impressed . So took him straight back and slowed back down... he then sat miles behind me B) . Oil change tonight, then perhaps next week get a boost gauge fitted 1

4758nigel Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 went for a 30 mile round trip (to the dentist :() had a BMW think he was clever about halfway along the A1 (between home and destination ofc) he decided to overtake me and sit just in front of me @ 65 till i noticed that the outside lane was empty for a fairly long stretch so i put my toe down and undertook him and just left him behind lol i think i may've seen him later on and he didn't look too happy but i love playing "games" with BMW/Audi drivers 4
quit Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Just filled up the tank and went for 140 mile blast with the mrs
