In my experience you hear them before you feel them Rick.....just replaced a rear on mine, it was chuffing like a train.

It may just be a dry bearing may try packing it out with grease. If there was play I would replace it.I carnt spin the wheel either lol with it being 4wd

There's a sticker on the box it's self and the vin plate has the code on it aswell, I've no play either so hopefully It's not eaten the hub

can't really grease these sealed cartridge bearings.

New OEM NTN or NSK bearing kit is only £42ish, they easy do with press or on car if you have a hub bearing puller kit at hand.

Well I'm gonna pay my friendly subaru specialist to do it for me as I don't have the correct tools and I'm tempted to change the rear trailing arm bushes at the same time due to them looking very dead

Not a bad idea do arm bushes, bolt on those normally seized solid so worth soaking that in penetrating oil & pre test removal. if won't budge order new bolt/nut as will need cut them off.

Bearing best done with press as easy damage them without .

Turns out it was the n/s rear that was knackered, must have been whining for ages but I put it down to all the new bushes haha. Still done and much quieter and with the new goodyears on it's lovely, may have to delete the 2nd resonator in the mid pipe [emoji51]

Louder sound mate, have a cobra trackday friendly system 98db static so looking at maybe increasing the dB's [emoji51]

Trouble is I've never heard my own car drive by so don't know what it sounds like, people still turn and expect an impreza when they hear it so I guess on the move it's ok.

Park up next to nick & ash and I can't even hear it haha

Lol since my map my missus says it shakes the house. Didn't think it'd make it louder. I'd love to hear mine on a fly by.

Yeah mines loud on start up and cold idle but soon quietens down when warm. Still thinking of running at pod in July so I'll get somone to film it

Yep.

Went to the finale in sept was a good say out so hopefully this one will be warmer and busier

Ive got the job of stripping my rear hub down on sunday to change the bearing.Gonna take it to work Monday morning to swap it over

The long trailing arm bolt came out easy as which I was worrying about, the rest of the hub and abs ring also came apart easily.

Getting the bearing in was a different kettle of fish, 1st one turned up and had already been used, 2 nd one went in wonky 3rd time went in straight with a bit of persuasion and a little help cleaning the hub face up
