as far as i know these tracker things for insurance are only supposed to be used like a black box recorder in a plane, if you go 12 months with no accidents they don't look at the recorder, if you do have an accident say on the 11 month of having it your whole 11 months of driving is then reviewed, i found out a while back after bumping a car on ice and causing major front end damage on mine that if i repair it without a claim for MY car it doesn't affect my no claims, 20 mins after the incident i'd sourced all the repair parts of a mate who brakes just that one model of car, by the time the insurance had called me back the parts were at my feet and being fitted, i told them i didn't want an assessor out as he would just write it off and they were fine with that, the other party repaired his car via my insurance and when i came to renew they told me there was no incident recorded on my file, bonus

here you go bud, click on it and if need be zoom in my ecu is an 8S for a 97 version 3 turbo 2000 uk wagon, i belive the 8S is wagon only but the saloon of the same spec should be wired the same, the diagram for mine was F1-b
-
is this any help?
-
mines wired to the ecu via the turbo timer, not sure if you can wire a standard gauge the same way, i can scan the instructions for fitting the tt so you can see the wires to tap into

i'm not a massive fan of these new wind deflectors as they seems to be more for looks than function, but then that's with the windows open i suppose for what you want them for they would probably work, as for brakes, i think you'll find any of the EBC range of pads will make a huge difference, unless your doing a lot of hard driving on and off the brakes then i would stay away from the added cost of dics, if you do suffer from brake fade then obviosly some drilled and or grooved discs would fix that EBC link

welcome aboard, looks like you have enough advice to keep you busy for a couple of hours :D
-
if you do go decat option make sure you can get it passed the mot with it at your usual tester or ask around others see if they will let it slide, but most importantly fit a lambda spacer as the stronger gasses will make the car run worse than it is now as the ecu won't know the cats missing

Subaru Forester 2.0 X 5dr 2004 LPG/Duel Fuel 147000 miles ADVICE
Miggs replied to PurplePea's topic in Subaru Forester Club
the main maker of wind deflectors that i know if is Team Heko, i know their site has them for the 09 fozzy but they may be able to source some from the storage if you ask them -

i like a man in leather, makes me do this i can't follow the good looking bloke above with anything as hot as that, just a standard pic of me and heres one of me in Australia for the millennium forgot i had these, even found a vid of me getting my head waxed lol
-
this is the standard 2 port and this is the more desirable 3 port the apexi unit has a square block where the pipes come from not round
-
both them pics look like the original unit, the left looks like the wiring for the original unit and the right looks like the unit itself

the nintendo 3DS came out with a warning stating if you use the 3D function you can't do it for prolonged periods and not to let kids under 13 use it, this was the first non glasses 3D system available and it may well have improved since but i'd rather go for the safer glasses option, i too think it's a gimmick and have no intention of buying a tv for it's 3D capability but if i do get a tv that has it i would use it every now and again but i think it's the kids that would be using it for most of their films, that being said there are more and more movies being released in 3D now so it's not going to be long before the next fad is holographic projection movies lol

i think the walbro is all that's needed, i'm not 100% though so i would probably wait for more knowledgeable info or see if you can find more info via google, i have had a brief look but nothings jumping out at me, i have seen quite a few people having issues with the walbros a couple of years back but not sure if that was a bad batch or cheap copies that a group of people all bought, if you can i would try and find an authorised dealer for them or another reputable company to get it from rather than looking for a cheap one on egay

welcome to the forum, i seem to have missed the initial posting, glad you stuck to your guns and eventually got one, with regards to the 6 speed i think you'll find it's the cost of the unit over the cost of the fitting, you need the box and rear diff and possibly the prop shaft, the setup second hand seems to be over £1000 easy, weith regards the wind noise, my impreza has wind noise through the drivers window once over 40ish mph, i've not had any water coming in though so it hasn't bothered me, the brakes issue is common on all subarus from what i have seen and the easiest and cheapest fix is a flex stopper, because the metal is so thin to keep the power/weight ratio up the bluk head flexes when you apply the brakes, the flex stopper does exactly that, stops flex, they can be bought new for around £40 and having driven an impreza without one then the same car with one the difference is very noticeable this is the kit this is it fitted there are other makers of it so it's not just the cusco model available

ohh err umm yeh i don't recognise that one at all, wonder what that could be "It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again" "Yes, it will, Precious, won't it? It will get the hose!" oh is it silence of the lambs per chance

My father in laws just bought one of them bose units that goes under the TV and to be honest it's probably better than my entire sound system that I have for the TV, mine consists of 2 floor standing speakers next to the tele, 2 satellite speakers in the back corners, a centre speaker under the TV and the bass box behind the TV
-
Photobucket is what I use, simple and free, I think there's a guide on here somewhere but I'm on my phone so would take all night to find it lol
-
I try and threadlock everything I tighten just to be sure, I think the wheel nuts are the only part I don't lol, and cheers for the pointer, I'll forget this advice come fitting time but will remember when I realise I forgot to reconnect the sensor light lol
-
I do the second opinion judging, I will also require emailed photographic entries too
