  1. insurance companies don't like timers or remote starts as they seem to think it's prone to moving off of it's own accord, in reality the car will kill the timer will cease activation the second the hand brake is released so it's not prone to theft even if the car was unlocked, the remote start won't activate unless the cars handbrake is applied and the car is in neutral so again not much chance of any mishap, the problem would arise however if the relevant electrics were fitted by a cowboy or the items were cheap ones that didn't require the safety aspect of said parts

  16. welcome aboard pal, car looks sweet, love the centre caps, i'm still loving mine too, everytime i fire it up i get a tingle
  17. i have a uk turbo 2000, i was also into my my vag until recently, the wife still has a mk4 golf, i have a good friend from mossley he now lives just on the boarder in stalybridge, he was into his vag also and has since bought a bmw and a focus st mods wise a decat is a good option to free the gasses, a version 4 can be mapped iirc, if you check the turbo if it's a wrx i believe they used the td05 unit whereas the uk 2000's used the o4, the o4 is good for about 300bhp whereas the 05 is about 450, andrew carr is a well know mapper, he does a live map to suit your driving, he takes you out with him in the passenger seats and gives you instructions and you give him the feedback untill your happy with the way it go's, also most parts can be bought from a subie specialist not too far from me called cams Cams Brian Coward 01254 689 994 07931 211 871 Unit 12 Brook Mill Complex Branch Road Blackburn BB3 0PR
  18. welcome aboard, pics of the fozzy would go down well, i'd love to see how it looks, enjoy your stay
  19. it is an import, they didn't do rear wipers on the uk models as far as i'm aware, also i don't think they did the WRX on the uk classics either, they were all uk turbo 2000's, that connected with the fog light and import rear lights would suggest import, what's the centre console look like, i think the imports had 2 stereo slots too oh and welcome aboard
  20. welcome aboard, lots of help and info available on here pal, sounds like a typical car dealer imo, there are some good ones but they are few and far between from what i have seen, i refuse to buy off them anymore, as for the racing side of things, i have 1 guy in a saxo VTR who is always wanting his **** handing to him everytime he see's me, theres a lexus is200 that has tried once but not since the first time, he learnt his lesson, but that's about it really for the numpty's the rest are fellow subie owners, might be the scoop that puts most off as with no scoop they know it's a non turbo, with a scoop theres a chance it's a turbo car
  21. Welcome aboard, I too look forward to the progress on this, hell of a cheap car there
  22. Welcome aboard pal, you can do a few cheapish mods but you won't get much bang for your buck compared to the same outlay on a turbo engine, if power is what your after I'd get rid of the outback and get a forester, if you go for a rolling road let us know what the results are and best of luck with it
  23. Welcome aboard and as. Stated it sounds like the magnet on the speaker is stopping the windows going all the way down, they have an auto cut off when something gives resistance to the travel up or down they will cut the power to stop damage
  24. Welcome to the forum, hope you find what your looking for and I'm sure there'll always be help at hand on here
