oh and if your thinking of breaking a car to make more money, i got peanuts for the parts off the one i broke a few months ago, most bits sold for 99p and others i still have as they didn't sell, doesn't seem to be a big demand for the bits

i'm not sure on the master cylinder now after seeing them pics, ones i have done in the past from cable clutch and hydro clutch nave been identical in shape and pipe position bar the extra pipe in front of the brake pipe for the hydro clutch, i don't want to say go for it in case it's wrong, call Brian at Cams and he should be able to advise whats best 07931 211 871 01254 689 994

yeh they run miles better on optimax from shell or ultimate from bp, tesco also do 100 ron i believe, i've had issues with asdas petrol in the past on other cars, they seem to run rough on it like it's watered down type of thing do you know how to clear the codes? unplug the battery for an hour or more and they clear from the system, if there are no faults store after the clear the check engine light just does a constant flash, no pattern to it as such -
yeh just a cap or bolt that's the same as the thread in there already, if you take the extra nut out that you may get with a second hand unit you could take it to an autofactors and they should be able to match it with the correct bolt/blank, for extra piece of mine you could put some brake fluid resistant sealant on the threads or some ptfe tape, i don't think leakage would be an issue but better safe than sorry, it's not long since i threw loads of sport bits out as i didn't think i'd be able to get shut, i can't guarantee its the same so measure both the turbo and sport units and make sure its just the extra hole that's different, i've fitted masters from other cars with the same in the manufacturers range on less similar cars before and subaru seem to share a lot of their parts within the family

i'm on scooby net and lads forum and neither of them have me posting as much as on here, so far i don't think i've had any of my random waffling edited or removed unlike other forums, i like the freedom to say what i think without it being the wrong opinion all the time so i just stay on here and rarely browse the rest tbh

yeh i thought that would be quite easy if you've seen it more than once, just didn't know if i was the only male fan of the film as it's a tom cruise film and the wife loves him so i've seen it quite a bit lol

i would imagine that the leggy turbo and non turbo will be the same fit from the cat back, i know the impreza and forester systems are more or less the same bar about 6" on the end, Dogma fitted his non turbo impreza exhaust to his turbo forester and just added a bit extra to the end to clear the rear bumper on another note, what's up with your back? if you don't mind me asking, i was told i'd be in a wheelchair by now and so far that's not happened, touch wood, as i broke my back some 13 years ago now, i'm on a proper concoction of pills but refuse to go for the op, i have not just got the fracture but the disc below the fracture has prolapsed and they want to either remove and fuse it or replace it or just cut the excess off, having a needle phobia is putting me off going in though, plus they said it wasn't going to get rid of the back pain just the sciatica and i can cope with that to be fair anywhoooo
-
Cheers pal, I knew I'd seen it and I'd just recently watched the film again so narrowed it down a bit This might be easy depending how many times you've seen the film
-
oooo interesting, i'm guessing it's on a vehicle of some form hence the angle, will need to really think about this one

My circumstances are going to drastically change in the next month
Miggs replied to Bouncer's topic in General Subaru Chat
yeh imports are dearer to insure purely for the fact it's not a uk car, my neighbours 3.0 td hilux was £1500 on a quote as was a 97 import impreza, my uk turbo 2000 on a 97 plate is less than £500 a year, i was able to get a classic policy on it so that helped mpg on a sport over the turbo is dramatically better, Dogma had a uk turbo and a steady drive to his cousins would see us filling the tank again before heading back, in his sport it was less than half a tank both ways so could have done it twice -
and regarding tints, i have found that submerging the glass in the bath, or a kiddies paddling pool is bay far the easiest way to get great results, obviously you can't just pop a back screen out but for that i found talcum powder on the non sticky side of the film helps the squeegee tool glide over the film without scratching it

 i think single pipes are ok oval but twin ovals i'm not so keen, but it's how YOU want it to look that matters, just because we wouldn't like it doesn't mean you wouldn't, you'd get a better idea by looking at some images on google

the symptoms you give are signs of air in the system, if it's been flushed/bled thoroughly and it's not cured then you could have a leak in the servo, master cylinder or any of the 4 calipers, you could use the turbo one and blank off the hole for the hydro clutch
-
i have the single din slot in mine and was told if i get the double din equivalent panel it's just a simple case of swapping that section, can has to be same spec dash as yours though, for my impreza it has to be the pre facelift dash section, as for the wood, as said you could vinyl wrap it, a heat gun and a vinyl squeegee would be handy to have as well as a damn sharp craft knife, if you want the matte carbon to look more realistic just give it a few coats of lacquer, warm the lacquer as your spraying and it gives a shiny finish without needing a polish

sometimes cleaning them can fix it, i had a clio in once that a garage had diagnosed a faulty head gasket and it was just the crank sensor at fault, took it off, cleaned the carbon off it and refitted and it was good for a couple of years till the owner upgraded to a newer car -
i deliberately picked a scene i thought wouldn't be as recognised as most others, well done Gambit

The crank sensor that is, the map sensor is next to the boost solenoid in the drivers inner front wing -

I've never done them myself but have been told they are relatively simple to get to -
It's from 1981 if that helps

Could do with keeping any useful posts pinned in the relevant sections everything somebody posts something that could be of use -
Does sound like air in the pipes, I've had a split pipe and that gives a touch of brakes then the pedal continues down and the brakes slowly release with the foot to the floor, I've had air in the system too and this was pedal to the floor first press but as you pump the pedal it gets better till you can stop, I'd get the car up and if possible all wheels off and get someone pumping the pedal while you walk/crawl round and see if you can see any leaking fluid or bubbles
