Cheers mate! Yea seems like it's took forever, great being able to drive her properly again. Just need to sort some new alloys now and some gauges then I'll be happy for a bit :)

Used these to fit my exhaust and do my remap. Garry did an absolutely fantastic and thorough job. Got great gains from my car too and it runs sooooo much better than on the old map - much smoother and cleaner throughout the rev range and easier to drive. Great guys work there too - kept me topped up on cuppas the entire time I've been there over 2 Saturdays and even had a BBQ last time I went when some Evo owners turned up. Can't recommend him enough if you need some parts fitting and a remap. He's really informative too - talked me through everything he did included the ins and outs of the map and what options I could do in future. Reasonably priced as well, especially for the work he did for me. Even chucked in a couple of freebies.

Yea it definitely spools a lot quicker now. It's awesome! It was supposedly doing 330bhp before too, but I think scoobyworlds/scoobyworx RR might have been reading a bit high because it feels much better and faster on the road. More so than the extra 17bhp would provide. That map feels loads smoother too and holds power much better. I'll dig the old one out and post that in a min. Edit - here it is Doesn't look too much different but on the road the difference really is huge.

Finally got my decat 3" exhaust fitted and Harvey Smith up pipe on. Also fitted a OEM Re-circ valve to get rid of the Turbosmart BOV since I hear they can cause problems even though it sounded good. Fitted a new fuel pump too (HRC one) since my Walbro has been on 2 years now. Got a MAFless remap after all this at G-R Performance. Up to 347bhp now - well happy with that. Torque looks to have dropped to 301 from 330 but it feels even stronger on the road and Gary at GR said his rolling road doesn't read torque very well and I would probably get a much higher figure on another one. After feeling it on the road I completely believe that. Got pops and bangs mapped in too. Sounds !Removed! awesome :D I can't recommend Garry enough at GR too. He did an amazing job fitting everything and put loads of work into the map. It drives so much smoother and easier be and revs much cleaner and faster. He's a top bloke too, good laugh and takes a huge amount of pride in his work. Will definitely use him regularly from now on for any works Martin can't do - mainly fabrication and mapping stuff. I'll be going back next week to get launch control mapped in too - mainly for the noise rather than launching haha.

That is awesome! It's actually a lot cheaper than I'd expect it to be too.

Argh! Can't make up my mind lol. I have ruled out the Team Dynamics though I think. I've found some better pics of the Milleniums: I can't seem to find any pics of dark/black GRA's on a blue newage though so struggling to picture those on mine still. @ Savage - I love the blue and dark/black combo on Scoobs and that's the theme I'm having on mine so I'm definitely sticking with black or a dark colour with the alloys. I do like the Grids too but they're too wide and expensive for me. Keep the suggestions coming though :)

At least I'm not the only one... PITA. Getting irritated now though, not been able to drive it properly for a couple of months and everything I try to doesn't go right or brings up more problems lol. At least that up pip isn't too expensive, about £125 plus fitting. And that pipe should give me a better spool from what I've read about it so that's good plus I was planning on getting it in the future when upgrading the turbo so not all bad, still another expense I didn't want just yet though.

Went to get my new exhaust and decat, OEM Re-circ valve put back on and new fuel pump fitted today plus map. But because it's me and I have no good luck whatsoever it didn't go as planned. No matter what J Performance say on their website, that exhaust is not made to fit the Impreza. No !Removed! way. And if it is, when making it they must make it all by eye and not use any measurements at all, everything on it was out in some way or another. Thankfully Gaz at GR Performance has got mad skills. Took some time but he made that sucker fit. Some new/altered brackets, and a cut and weld and it was sorted. He did an absolutely amazing job on the welds too, they looked mint! Couldn't be happier with them. Still a further £150 wasted due to the work involved getting it to fit. Once we fired it back up with the exhaust on and giving the car a quick check over found I was right in my belief it was blowing somewhere after all. The up pipe is !Removed! and is blowing. Brilliant... So now I've ordered one of those Harvey Smith Up Pipes I've heard so much about and had to leave it with him. Hopefully, all going well and as long as no further probs are found I'll be getting it back next Saturday.

I've not been having much luck lately. 2 of my Team Dynamic wheels are buckled - long story. Can't seem to get hold of any single alloys fora reasonable price and even if I did they'd still need spraying again to match the rest. I've been uhmmming and arrrring about what to do and thanks to some night work at double time and if I can sell my old Kato's I'm shortly going to have enough money to bite the bullet and buy a brand new set. The only thing is to has meant I've started looking alloy wheel shopping again and now can't decide which I want. Want them in 18" so I can still use my new tyres which cost me £350+ plus just think they look and fill the arch better. I've narrowed it down to 3 choices. Could get a brand new set of Team Dynamics in black - would meet I'd have 2 of my current ones as spare too. But around the same price I could also get Revolution Milleniums which I've always loved in gunmetal. Gold there, but you get the idea. Although I do love these in gold too... And lastly some Rota GRA's in flat black. http://www.rarerims.co.uk/wheelshop_products.asp?productid=1&rangeid=1&product=GRA# Wrong colour scheme again but you get the idea. Which do you guys think I should get?

Kato racing wheels 18x7.5" Definitely have 5x100 stud pattern as they were fitted to my 2003 Impreza but I'm not sure of the other size - maybe fit Hawkeye onwards but not 100% sure. 2 of the wheels come with Yokohoma Parada Spec 2 tyres with 5mm tread left. Incredible dry weather grip. The other 2 are on the limit so will need new. All are straight and no buckles. Balanced and tracked spot on with no vibrations. Unfortunately as some of you know when I took it to a hand car wash they ruined the finish with the road grime remover stuff So they'll need refurbing/spraying. 1 has some bubbling/corrosion on the inner rim part too but since they need sorting anyway it can be done then. I did plan on keeping these and spraying black myself. I bought the Plasti Dip wheel kit for £55 with spray gun and will include this so you can do yourself if you want. http://www.matt-pack.co.uk/wheel-kit-over-17-c2x13231017 After £220 delivered. Or £160 if you save me trouble of posting and can collect/meet. I'll be going to NBO if that helps. I'll get better pics up ASAP too, I'm working nights at the moment so haven't had time to take proper pics.

I've read engine/lower gear braking - as in changing down at higher revs to slow the car - is a big no no in AWD cars due to the extra strain on the transmission. I don't know how true that is but I've not done it since getting my Impreza in case. But as Gambit days it's more down to general care of the car rather than changing your driving style for AWD that causes issues. I wouldn't worry about it mate ;) apart from the above I've not read anything else you shouldn't do in a AWD compared to a 2 wheel drive car. Quick standing starts will wear the clutch quicker I should imagine than I a 2WD car but as long as you don't do too many of those you shouldn't have any problems I don't think.

I'm working tonight so can't make it this time :( -
I did mean just between us 2 so far ;) Going to NBO? Think I might be able to stay ahead lol.
-
And who's been to the most Scooby meets and shows so far this year between us eh?? ;)
-
Yea that's more like it. No way would I do it in my car, but give me one where I don't have to worry about damage/repairs/driving it afterwards and I'd give it a damn good go.

Haha I was thinking same. That is seriously impressive stuff. Balls of steel that bloke!

Don't need radio/music when you've got that awesome burble ;) Saying that, I've got uprated speakers in mine too :)
-
I'm going but it's with the Type R guys again. I'll try and find you though and pop over for a chat :)

That is beautiful! Those wheels are pretty damn stunning too. Excellent work, will definitely be giving this a good look over at NBO. What kind of mileage are you on now? Have you had any problems with the engine?

mfnick replied to BoozyDave's topic in Subaru Gallery and Showroom
Aw look at my poor baby without her fog covers. :( haha -
I've been thinking of getting some of this Plasti dip stuff. I've read some great stuff about it and really does sound easy and gets good reviews. Going to use it to sort my old wheels that I took off - either for winter or to help sell. May even end up putting them back on since one of my TD's is buckled and struggling to get another.
-
If that was indeed you, those videos don't do it justice - as good as it sounds in them it was another level hearing it on the road! Wish I had enough for the Blitz Nur Spec R if it was definitely that one. Never know though, may end up in a better place in the future where I'd be able to afford it :) Hope to see you at a meet pal, would love to hear it again. You've got an awesome car there!
