Not RC but a good place to put this anyway. http://youtu.be/KEec-zfxiQQ

Forgot about this. Think I'm going to back out completely, soz guys. My Gold has expired and don't think its worth renewing to be honest so can't play online.
-
South of the event in Sheffield so will be using M1 and A1 to get up. Can use M18 and A1 if that'd make it easier to meet for a convoy up with any others that are traveling north.

Think I might do that actually. Thing is, it's not booked in until 7th June. Anyway I can make 100% sure this is compatible with my 2003 STi? Just worried they may have mixed it up with anothe model now haha! Can you guys tell from the pics? Can't say I've ever seen that wide bell mouth style long downpipe for any other make but could be for a classic? Suppose I could drive to Martins this Saturday and ask him to look at it for me if not. Edit - scratch that. Just been looking around on Ebay. It looks exactly like any 3" with 4.5" tip non-branded and some cheap branded (Toyo sports) exhaust on there. Suddenly don't feel too bad about not saying anything about it to them now since I'm already being overcharged even at the original £245 price by looks of it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Impreza-WRX-STi-New-ageTurbo-01-06-3-full-decat-de-cat-exhaust-system-/201078783957?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AImpreza&hash=item2ed13abfd5 Confident it's the right one now too. I know this will take some persuasion to fit just like people say about the Toyo Sports one so apart for it saying J Performance on the tip I think there's zero difference between them.

2nd time lucky? Well... Could be very, VERY lucky actually! As you may be able to see from the pic, instead of sending me the 3" catback they've now sent me the full 3" decat system which includes the downpipe. http://www.jperformance.co.uk/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-gda-gdb-exhaust-system-downpipe-decat-01-p-313.html Could have saved £100 there :D I'm hoping this is kind of an apology for misinformation on the site and sending me the incorrect one in the first place. But they may have just made another mistake and may want me to pay the extra... So I'm not sure whether to bring it up with the person I've been emailing. They have been really helpful too so don't want to take advantage really. What to do?!

I've tried the Bilt Hammer wax after reading a load of great stuff about it, but to be honest I don't think it's anywhere near as good as the Meguiars stuff I've got. Doesn't last as long, doesn't leave as nice a shine and is much more difficult to apply and buff off. Always found Auto Glym super resin polish to be brilliant too so not bothered using any others.
-
Then I'll ignore you. Simples. Unless you wave first, I'm not a total arsehole ;)
-
Try Sky Insurance too (nothing to do with the Satellite company lol). I've been with them for 4+ years now and they've consistently been the cheapest, are helpful and are good with mods - declared all mine on the CTR and my STi and made little difference to the price. Might be worth signing up to somewhere like Scoobynet, sioc etc. if you haven't yet too as you'll get an extra discount if you mention you're on there. Might even get one for mentioning your on here too.
-
I usually clock who the owner is before waving. Gormless, twatty looking chav? Blank that ******! Anyone else will get a smiley wave from me and usually get them back. :) Have to admit its pretty new to me too. But it actually started with the CTR. I found other Type R owners (any model) waving at me and was very confused at first - had never had it before. Used to it now though :D And soz David1972 but im like that Boozy lad and don't usually wave at any apart from Impreza's. I'll wave back if I get one though lol.

Some great pics there mate. May as well post mine here as well so they're all in one place - https://www.facebook.com/nick.foulstone.18/media_set?set=a.314900461993023.1073741825.100004192154481&type=1&l=4e0fde25be -
Subaru WRX STI - Sneak Peak From Subaru HQ
mfnick replied to GMD Subaru's topic in General Subaru Chat
VERY nice! Keep meaning to ring Europa Sheffield to see if they have one or will be getting one in the showroom to go and have a nosey at. -
Still, even if it wasn't. I've read enough about others failing I'm changing mine for peace if mind. Especially for the price. Yea, still loads to do. Just meant nearly there with this part of the engine build :).

I had Yokohoma Parada Spec 2's when I bought my car in September. They were part worn obviously but the dry grip was still incredible! Gave a huge amount of confidence to hit any corner at almost any speed. Problem? If the road isn't dry - forget about it. No grip in even the lightest rain/damp conditions. Highly recommend them if you never take the car out when it's raining. I've now got those Vredestein Ultra Sessanta's on. Wet grip has increased dramatically but dry grip isn't quite as goods do the noise at motorway speeds is definitely more noticeable. A sacrifice I'm willing to make though as the Parada's when wet were genuinely scary at times. I'd definitely recommend them for all weather use.

Look at that engine! Mmmm ! I'd like one just for those shiney pipes haha! I do have a soft spot for these but the old Alfa reliability stories scared me off haha.

Still one of my favourite thread here. Almost there now! The attention to details and just how damn nice it all looks is just amazing. I'd like to see it in person at a meet some time in the future ;) I've also been inspired to change my 2 year old Walbro pump when I get my exhaust and remap done next month after reading about all these failures. I'm going with HRC though, almost got that RCM one but after googling and reading quite a few threads the HRC one comes very highly recommended and is half the price of that RCM one thankfully! Not as big capacity but more than enough for power levels I'm going for. :)

I've decided to return it and get the 3". I'm thinking of upgrading the turbo someday (very far) in the future to get between 350&400bhp so will be ready for that. I've also got my downpipe and de-cat in 2.5" so hoping that will help with keeping some low down torque while making that future turbo upgrade cheaper since I'll only have to re-buy that part in 3". I want a deep tone too so happy about that. I like keeping the revs high anyway when on it so shouldn't be a problem. Yea i noticed that too Dave. I couldn't find a phone number so emailed them. Got back to me very quick and they are hopefully just going to do a straight swap and refund me the difference. :D been excellent customer service so far. Just waiting to get confirmation since I agreed to it. She's also made the manager aware to get that description changed.

This was great! Loads of awesome and varied cars and beautiful weather. Couldn't have been much better. Pics up on my FB (quickest free image uploader I know) - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.314900461993023.1073741825.100004192154481&type=1&l=4e0fde25be Scooby pics especially for Gambit. http://i60.tinypic.com/2j11q3p.jpg

Damn! Nothing's ever easy for me lol.
-
Which one did you get then!? Lol. If you look at the pic in that 3" system it has a resonated centre pipe. I can't find any with a straight through centre pipe and 3"
-
Right, bit of a ***** up here then. Since speaking to you (Dave) earlier about yours being a 3" bore and with mine being designed slightly differently I thought I'd double check this. Turns out the link you posted was to the 2.5" system and there is actually a proper 3" one when you look around on the site. 2.5" - http://www.jperformance.co.uk/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-gda-gdb-catback-cat-back-exhaust-system-p-872.html 3" - http://www.jperformance.co.uk/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-catback-exhaust-system-new-age-p-369.html Now my 2.5" should fit without having to modify it, whereas the 3" does require some jiggery pokery. It also doesn't have a resonated centre pipe so I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.5" is louder - which I wouldn't mind. My only concern is what that 0.5" will cost me in power and torque when it comes to mapping. Do you reckon it's worth me returning the 2.5" system and getting that 3" one ordered. The 3" is slightly cheaper too for some reason....

I think BoozyDave still has a spare ticket. Try sending him a PM. I'm meeting him at 8, think we're planning on getting there around 8:30. Should reply to you soon enough
-
How many more do you need for the stand? Put me down as a definite if it'll help you get the stand. I can make it. But if you can't get the stand I'd like to know a price for just turning up on the day as an "individual" before I commit.
-
I agree. I do believe there's a time and place for it - A or B roads, dry, sunny with good sight line and empty. I know a couple of awesome roads I love taking my car on. But at night, in built up areas, overtaking when there's clearly a car coming other way and traffic light racing where the winner is decided by not being the one to "back off" is !Removed! stupid!

you have to be very pissed or very stonned to eat these.
mfnick replied to Scooby Pete's topic in Junk Room
I'd try the salt and vinegar :) -
It will me too, I had people laughing at how dirty it was on Monday lol. Just a quick wipe will make a marked improvement though. Got to say I've always been worried about cleaning engine bays though in case I get water somewhere it really shouldn't go!
