  1. Seems to be the rocker cover gasket thankfully. Been to Richard Henry and quoted £60 for the replacement. Seems reasonable to me. Would do it myself but just don't have the time at the moment.
  2. Could be the clutch, it does judder on hill starts which I assume pushes towards a clutch issue? Never put the 2 together for some reason though.
  3. Hey, As per title really, can smell something burning after a while of hard acceleration, have checked the coolant and the levels seem good suggesting there isn't a leak, oil level is staying constant and the temp gauge is where it should be and working perfectly (gets hotter with time, and if only left car to go shopping won't be at them bottom when I re-start car.) Any likely sources? Was thinking it could be exhaust burning rear bumper? Recently put a twin exit on and it is closer to the bumper than before. Any ideas would be great Thanks
  4. Car has thankfully been sold now.
  5. You can get torque steer, on sheet ice, under full acceleration and with a little bit of luck
  6. Haha, selling on behalf of my parents, last car of mine was mx-5 with a whopping 115bhp!!! And this version of the panda only has 54bhp, hard to handle that much power!!!
  7. Not a Subaru but my old Fiat Panda 1.2 is for sale on ebay, feel free to pm me on here for any more details. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171222538386?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Thanks
  8. Seems to be what Gambit said, using win 8 and ie. Thanks mate
  9. I'm not sure where to post this but am unable to paste text when starting a new topic? is there a way around this? anyone else have this problem? Especially annoying when trying to embed photos. thanks
  10. Well I have ordered front pads and discs (came as a deal) so should be fitting them in the next month. Doing exams at the moments so not much time for my car :(
  11. Thinking I will do the front discs and pads and rear pads at the moment, and then in the future do the rest, money permitting.
  12. Thanks mate, hadn't been able to find a guide for the gearbox but seems pretty simple.
  13. I have 4 pot calipers up front and was wondering if drilled and grooved discs make that much difference on a road car? Has standard discs in good condition at the moment. Will upgrade pads but not sure about discs. And the same with the rear Ta
  14. So just planning my first service of my 2000 year turbo 2000, just a few questions. Firstly which ht leads are the ones to get? And where is the Oil filter located? From what I've found it is above the drain plug and you reach it from under the car. Is that right? And with the gearbox and oil what is the best oil to use? And are the drain plugs on the diff and gearbox just above half way up? Thanks Sean
  15. From what I have read about alarms it depends on the alarm you have. My alarm doesn't arm for 30 secs after locking door so can leave it running for 30 secs and still have the alarm. I know some peoples alarms just don't work if the engine is running. What I'm trying to say is I believe it depends on the alarm. Although I'm sure if you went to see or called Richard Henry in Bradford they would know, good little place they have, lots of interesting car there and very knowledgeable and friendly.
  16. Thanks for that. Was having a quick look while doing my clock spring and couldn't find any guides pertaining to the same model year as mine. Aand didn't really fancy pulling out some connections.
  17. Oh and car is an Impreza turbo 2000, 200 model year
  18. Not necessary I know but a bit of fun, and useful for warming up the car on a cold morning. Only issue is I can't locate the ignition clip to fit the HKS harness I have, have checked all the clips on the steering column but to no avail. Where exactly is it? And is the HKS harness the correct one? its an FT-3 I believe. Thanks
  19. Red for me, good contrast with the blue and look good behind some gunmetal wheels
  20. Well got this sorted, went down to HDC Subaru in Hebden Bridge (who were very friendly and helpful with a lot of parts) and got a standard steering wheel and clock spring (very cheap as well) installed today and was very very easy to do. Have a horn, self cancelling indicators and an airbag:)
  21. Well I will call Richard Henry in the morning, one of the good things about living in Bradford!!!
  22. Well after further investigation there doesn't seem to be any sign of a clockspring whatsoever. Tried uploading image but having problems however there is a photo in my other post in the Electric part of the main forum for reference. What model clockspring will fit? My car is a 2000 year turbo 2000 with Nardi aftermarket wheel. Ta
  23. Well I went to investigate why my horn and self cancelling indicators aren't working on my impreza turbo 2000 today and think I found the problem. Took the steering wheel and boss off expecting to find the clock spring, however it wasn't there. (See attached photo) My question is which clock springs will fit my car? Its a 2000 year impreza turbo 2000 with a nard aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag. Ta
  24. Funnily enough I tried firstly without the ignition on and then realised but still nothing. Is the fuse in the main fuse box in engine? And where is the horn located in the engine bay?
  25. Obviously meant to say mmm not mum at the beginning of that..... Stupid autocorrect
