  1. well the car is in bits at the moment but i will defo not be using them again, they would just say that the owner should have checked before bringing it in for a map, but it wouldnt be the first time they have been took to court.
  2. taken from my other post but retweeked. Upon arrival to the Scooby clinic my car decided to go into 3cyl, and with no explanation of why, the ECU was checked and so was the maf sensor and both where found to be running absolutely spot on. Fiddling with coil pack checking for a spark one of the lads pushed a wire on the injectors and suddenly its back to 4cyl and then back to 3, a quick check and it was found to be the wires of the injector plug coming free, a plug was quickly sourced and fitted. Everything else was given the once over and then the go ahead was given for it to be put on the DYNO :) . I then had to wait a further Hour for Pat to turn up as he was still in bed, even though i took a day off and was there for the designated time of 9am, but when he did more problems arose, My Ecu decided to commit suicide and no longer work at the time there was no explanation as to why, this was later found to be Pats wire to the obd port had caused the map to go on wrong and fry my PPP ecu. , after an argument at to who was to blame and them trying to charge me £200 for another ECU ,another was sourced and quickly fitted, but then Pat couldn't log into the ECU to map it, an error was traced to his OBD cable (reason for blowing the first) and away we went. A few runs in the boost seemed to peak just under 1 bar, around 9-10 psi, the wastegate pill was checked and then changed and away we went again, it was then Suspected to be a shoddy turbo that wouldn't make anymore than 10 psi of boost however saying that it still made 232 bhp and 240 lb of torque, I have been advised to get a billet turbo as this engine is built for 450+ , what they didnt check was whether the boost solenoid was even connected in the first place. The car was immediately taken to martin at subaru services and he found the issue straight away. Upon taking it back i was told it would be free of charge so agreed, the car immediately went to 20+ psi, so was never the turbo which is what they told me, all was redeemed until i came to get my car back and they wouldnt release it to me without paying them. They make you sign a contract upon arrival before you have any work done that states you will pay whatever is quoted at the end. AVOID!!!!!!
  3. Haha do my cars count as kids ?? they seem to whinge and cost me lots of money ??
  4. Haha, gambits never ending excuse list why he cannot turn up to the sheffield meets :/ dont worry we wont judge you ;) much
  5. tbh its lively enough with the 2l in it :) all it needs is the R33 turbo and will be at 350bhp with a few tweaks. There are very sought after in USA due to them now allowed to being imported, and same with Aus, im having trouble as its a very unique car and to most people its the ugly sibling, however ive found it very comfortable, and it straight through decat makes the most awsome noise.
  6. agreed, pommy impreza's have rocked bottomed, especially turbo 2000's as in some peoples eyes there harder to mod due to the ECU's, 800-1000, hate to say it but you would probably make more breaking it if you really need the cash.
  7. was a crack and a half, i can assure you he still felt that haha.
  8. have a look on swapz.co.uk , i will say however with that mileage you will be lucky for £1800, watched a 53 plate bugeye go for £2300 with 89k on it.
  9. can i ask why you changed from the better closed deck block to an open deck block ?, the ecus will be different as well as yours will have been a 4 block and now on either a 2 or a 3 block. sorry re read and other way around.
  10. awww man, sorry to hear that matey, best of luck with the sale and make sure you stay on the forum.
  11. no mate, alot of broken promises and people offering swaps to the tell me they cannot get insured on it.... Even though it comes up as a non turbo lol
  12. went down to the superbikes at the weekend, and could not believe my eyes when i witnessed this on the screen, super right hook though.
  13. !Removed! hell this list is getting longer, sure you car has fallen to bits or does it just want to come and keep mine company.
  14. Always same mate, and it looks so slow compared to the motorbikes doing it lol.
  15. Gem, there are actually a few ladies that go, some of the owners bring partners as well, dont worry you wont be the only girl. Ok a request. Make sure cars are super clean as i have a professional photographer coming. he is bringing full gear Tripods lighting etc :)
  16. just waiting for the weather forecast to go up however im inquiring about potentially getting a burger van.
  17. best way to test is unplug it and start the car without it
  18. WD40 all the switches.... Doors, boot, bonnet, rear doors. check the contacts on them as they are prone to rust.
  19. Your welcome pommy, my WRX was running Full decat and 2.5 inch exhaust all way back. Uprated Fuel pump Forge DV Iridiums Standard TD04 Uprated Y-Pipe 4 Pot brakes off newer shape. And it made 278bhp. it was around £800 as brakes where all ready on, and i got mine mapped at a place called GR performance in Rotherham or give Duncan at Racedynamix a call and if you have big Peanuts you can do a motorway blast to have it mapped.
  20. Easiest way i have seen is lower the engine slowly onto a set of axles to lift it up slightly on one side. Would never EVER attempt it my self.
  21. ECU cut due to not knowing the correct mixture for the car, will more than likely destroy your maf sensor or worse if you keep running it without a map.
  22. as said by gambit the problem is most likely going to be the wrong fuel or as mat said a DV sticking, does your dv make a whossing sound or is it quieter than before, try testing all pipes to make sure none have perished with age, and check the top mount inter cooler if it still has one, as these are known for the odd stray stone causing some issues.
