  1. I've had my depo 4 in 1 for about 4 yrs now , I was gonna replace it but it works fine still so I always end up buying something else [emoji4] 1 bar does seem a bit low to me @90° temp . Are you still running mineral oil ? What grade /brand of oil are you running?
  2. Should've gone with em stants [emoji57]
  3. Mine wouldn't let me in without the alarm going off , let alone start the dam thing . I was booked in at a airport car park to go away in 2 days . He had the alarm siren off and car started within a minute even without a working fob . Then fitted the new one in a couple of hours [emoji41]
  4. Ticket and stand pass was on my door mat lunchtime. Cheers chap [emoji106]
  5. I'm unsure if any year outback has a abs ring ,as I've only ever owned classics but it might be worth checking out. If you need to get the wheel bearing done they'll soon see if the abs ring is fubar too .
  6. Glad it's up n running again [emoji41] I think my alarm was about £220 fitted ,Thatcham, hidden switch and a built in turbo timer . He's a mobile fitter but I think he only does Essex n Suffolk areas
  7. Unsure what year your outback is or if they run the same type of abs but on some classics the use a abs "ring" . The abs rings do tend to get brittle and crack , mine fell apart when changing a wheel bearing. So if they do run the same abs system it could well be the abs ring that's broken giving you the noise and code .
  8. You might have dodged a bullet if the company has gone bust ,if there was a issue with the car you'd have had nowhere to take it back too [emoji6]
  9. Good chance that the unmapped bigger turbo inlet pipe is causing running issues . As a friend fitted one to his bug sti and it brought up a code with the eml light. Once mapped in it was fine [emoji6]
  10. Thought about driving the scooby to go and price up a job ...... But I spent most of last Sunday polishing it for japshow and don't wanna get it dirty cos it's been raining [emoji23]
  11. Have you checked the relay out put towards the pump ? (Break in the wire ? ) Cam n crank sensor loose or corroded plugs ? As it will turn over but not start if their not plugged in . Although I was fairly sure that removing the cam or crank sensor cuts spark not fuel (might be worth checking though )
  12. Yeah a old phone would work too [emoji106] I do like the added benefit of being able to imoblize the engine and set a alarm off inside the car with a touch of a button [emoji6]
  13. I do under 5k a year in classic and although it spends a lot of it's time in bits it's normally through choice . I dare say you'd be hard pushed to find another gb270 with milage that low and maybe in that good a condition . So maybe it's worth that and might be worth even more in 10 yrs if kept in the same condition. I think a spec c or jdm sti would put a bigger grin on your face though
  14. Although it looks like a nice , clean and tidy example of a rare ish model ...... It is basically a 2.5 wrx with different trim so I'm not sure if it demands spec c money. But I'm a classic man myself and would probably invest in a p1 or type r . As good clean examples seem to be going up in value rather than down like the newages [emoji6]
  15. Dunno about off the shelf but plenty will build a block to the spec you want You could try emailing mick (ex api engine builder) http://rmperformance.co.uk/ He might be able to point you in the right direction [emoji6]
  16. You could probably buy the engine components and get the machine work done for 4k but that's if you build it yourself. Turbo , injectors and fuel system 2.5 k . Clutch and drive train 3k . Ecu and mapping 1.5 k Brakes 1.5 k . Pluck a figure outta the air for labour to build and fit everything probably another 6k I wouldn't expect any change from 16k to buy most things new and get it all fitted .
  17. No the pipe that goes to it is from the idle control valve , but yours runs through a metal hard pipe under the inlet . Whereas I'm running a v3 idle control valve ( icv ) and a blue pipe over the top of the inlet
  18. Could try giving Alyn @ Asperformance a bell, he might have a aftermarket oil pick up in stock and dispatches fast . Alyn +441914103770 The "fixing / strengthening the old 1 was just a idea , as I don't know much about the 2.5 pick up. I just thought if it's a weak point , why not upgrade it to rule it out . My original 2ltr oil pick up is nearly 23yrs old and still keeps up with my rcm oil pump fine .
  19. Watched a fair few of the laps , nice work keeping the track capable scooby flag flying and tyres a screeching [emoji41] And well held on the 3rd or 4th lap , after a left to right hand corner the car did nippy nought slide [emoji33] [emoji90] [emoji28] [emoji41]
  20. What you need is called a "resonator delete" for a v1/v2 phase 1 impreza . The most common brand found is the apexi resonator delete but I used to run a unbranded one . I've removed most of the oe pipework under the inlet manifold so the icv pipework takes a different route but you can see the "delete" in this pic. you'd just have to connect your red circled pipe to where my blue pipe is connected on my delete Hopefully that makes sense lol .
  21. Hope you've caught it early enough that it's not done any damage . Do you know anyone who could fix the damage and weld a brace or fish plate in to strengthen it at the same time ? Might be a better option than buying/ waiting for a standard replacement.
  22. I'd suggest to get it on a dyno to check it's running safe , its only about £50 , which is a lot cheaper than a engine rebuild . Failing that try to keep it off boost especially in 3rd and above when the engines under greater loads
  23. It's probably not been mapped and the decat is causing overboost and leaner fuelling (not good ) has it got a boost gauge and if so what does it boost too ? If it's over 1 bar it's probably been mapped but unfortunately the only real way to tell is to get it plugged in by a tuner . As the common way to map a bug is with ecutek software which doesn't change the physical appearance of the ecu .
  24. I quite like the idea of a contract free tracker like this one . http://www.suffolkalarms.co.uk/index_files/Contract_Free_Tracking.htm If someone manages to get past my security system and take my car . I'll know where it is and me and a few mates can go and "retrieve" it without bothering the police or my insurance company [emoji6]
  25. Lovely looking classic, nice work [emoji106]
