  1. Yeah even the newest classics are 15yrs old , I think tin worm , breaking for spares and being written off has dwindled the numbers [emoji53] You quite often see good clean classics making better money than wrx bugs or early blobs .
  2. There's at least 3 different types of outer cv on the classics , pending on year and model . So you're probably better off buying a new outer cv or complete drive shaft from import car parts [emoji6]
  3. I dare say the "£60 / £600 total" On the first line of the invoice.... means £60 credit (for the old unit that was removed) and £600 (balance owed) for the hybrid they supplied ?
  4. It's 1.8 xt (apparently) . I've never seen or heard of 1 before either . I've always liked the idea of a retro h6 turbo sleeper , maybe a brat or early legacy but that's far too fugly for me too lol
  5. Popped up in my f.b feed Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191972584066 Never heard of 1 before
  6. You'll be fine if your in the same car , especially seeing as your cars got a stand pass . Have we got a list of Who's going and who's paid up already ?
  7. That's me paid up [emoji6] Bit dubious about giving gambit my home address on the form though [emoji23]
  8. Yeah through the club if you want a stand pass , click the "sunday" link on the first post to get the pay pal info [emoji6]
  9. I'm just gonna order my ticket/stand pass tonight . Then if anyone else comes with me they'll have to pay on the gate [emoji6]
  10. I had a front cv fall apart on my uk turbo . It will move but I had to nurse it at 2k for the 3 miles home . It made a hell'va noise and I was lucky it didn't fubar anything else tbh . It will probably wind your central diff up and you'd be better off fitting a new one asap imo .
  11. I was just curious with the flywheel figures, as I don't often look at the whp. I bet it pulls a lot nicer now on boost [emoji41] And that was a bargain price with good gains , nice darts [emoji106]
  12. I follow the sat nav [emoji55] Cos I'm rubbish with directions lol Its mainly staying on the a14 past bury St Edmunds and Cambridge [emoji6]
  13. Nice work , I bet you're chuffed [emoji41] What was the flywheel figures fella ?
  14. 19th you mean Monday ? that's fine be Tuesday the 20th I will book it once I've booked it though I can't add more as it's so late. I will have one pass spare though that I know of. Just incase anyone books a ticket and not a pass but wants on. And yeah pretty sure it £25 for the pod 4 goes but huge wait times. Most our guys don't even see much of them on the stand as they're all in line waiting. Soz gambit Friday the 23rd (my bad ) I'll pay up over the weekend im sure she'll be ok .[emoji55] If not I've had my engine out ,back in ,found that I hadn't fixed the oil leak I took it out for in the first place [emoji36] [emoji35] [emoji30] ,Then back out ,fixed and back in and running within a day [emoji23]
  15. I was gonna wait until next Friday evening (19th) before booking my ticket ...... just in case the old girl goes bang on the dyno Friday morning [emoji16]
  16. Glad you got it sorted sandy [emoji41] I guess you'll sleep well tonight knowing that you'll be on the dyno tomorrow [emoji23] Best of luck with the best bang for buck mod (remap) and I hope you get the figures you're after bud [emoji106]
  17. No problem ,bud . A leak Anywhere between maf and where the inlet manifold connects to the heads , could show up a maf or map code . It could be the new intake pipe allowing more air in than the stock one . As someone fitted a new intake pipe to their newage sti and although it ran fine, after 2 days they had a eml light come on at start up . It's now been remapped and the light has not come back on but classics do tend to be a bit more forgiving when it comes to minor breathing mods . Hope you suss it and keep us posted [emoji106]
  18. Hi n welcome , what model is it and has it been mapped or modded? It could be a air leak between maf and map sensor . As this would make the ecu see a difference in the air measured between the air filter and inlet manifold. Although I would expect that to show up more under boost than cold idle. It might be worth a visual check for perished vac lines and cracks in the intake and tmic y pipe .
  19. Yeah I know bud [emoji106] But I bet alyn probably did your cdb inserts for scooby clinic and if anyone knows if there's a correct way to re sleeve a block without the new liners coming loose, it's alyn [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  20. I'm sure your's will have handbrake shoes inside the centre of the discs, even though it's got pads for "peddle braking " If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  21. Speak to alyn @ Asperformance he does a lot of the cdb inserts for most scooby engine builders , so would probably be able to point you in the right direction [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  22. I used some brush on ally etch primer and brush on engine paint on my ally block which still looks good after 20 k . I used blue smooth hammerite on my 4 pot fronts and 2 pot rears but I painted over the rears with the red engine paint a couple of years later (To match up with the front brembos). I degrease (clutch cleaner) ,wire brush the surfaces , brush on some paint thinners and painted them once the thinners evaporated. If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  23. Mine just touched the calipers without spacers , so there's about 2.8 mm of clearance with the cheap spacers fitted . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  24. Standard headers normally have heatsheilds attached but if they've been removed I'd heat wrap them . As they're very close to the sump and oil filter , plus it helps keep bay temps down. I normally use the titanium wrap with stainless steel cable ties , it's just off ebay (can't remember the seller ) They're a lot easier to wrap off [emoji106] Import car parts for genuine gaskets . Manifold to head gasket × 2 And manifold to up pipe x1 If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  25. Yeah, I wasn't being picky I've just never heard the terminology before . Also The classics have got "LH" on the underside of the left head and I suppose you can guess where "RH" is [emoji39] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
