Japshow Finale 2nd October 2016
Gutted for you fella [emoji57] hope you've caught it early enough not to do too much damage. I had a great day at the pod ,nice to catch up with who I got chance to meet and sorry for not getting chance to chat to everyone. Only thing that miffed me a bit is the 1 time I go to the pod and not have a go at the 1/4 mile. ..... most of the non competitive cars did high 13's to 15's [emoji57] So I really do wish I'd have had a go at it but hey there's always next year [emoji6] Did anyone take any pics ? As I only took 1 pic of a pick up skyline and 1 vid of ghost n stants going down the 1/4 [emoji5]

Nano wax
Sounds like good stuff , can't say I've seen it in the UK though . Don't know if you've ever used colinite 845 to compare it too but it was originally designed for marine use , it's about £20 a bottle and makes my 22yr old roof look hydrophobic. I'm always on the lookout for something different when it comes to most things scooby .

Nano wax
I was looking to try a different wax next year as my bottle of colinite 845 is getting low . Quite like the colinite on my silver classic as it makes the metallic fleck pop nicely and lasts about 2 months (I wash it every week ) . What colour are you using it on, what's the longevity like and will I have to sell 1 of my kids to buy it [emoji5]

Japshow Finale 2nd October 2016
Sounds good pete [emoji41] Matt woods (photographer) is always at the pod taking mag pics of the big bhp boys . Both him and the chairman of scooby city do a bit of "feature" work for banzai too . So if the pod are interested I can run it past them at my next local meet , if you like ?

Convoy to Japshow fianle from the south
I'm aiming to get there for 830 which means leaving at 630 [emoji15] and travelling down the A14 but I normally pop into Cambridge services for a Mc breakfast on the way [emoji6] So if anyone else is going the same route I'll be in a silver classic, stuffin my face and slurping coffee at Cambridge services about 730 [emoji106]

Japshow Finale 2nd October 2016
Yeah I tried that last year , only did 2 runs but spent at least 3 hrs in the queue [emoji30] Maybe we should all go to a rwyb day next year when there isn't a "show" on ? I'm sure that you can book club stands /area's on those as well , so we can still all park together [emoji6]

Japshow Finale 2nd October 2016
Looks like it's going to be quite wet at the pod today but dry tomorrow , according to the forecast. I dare say that will mean the 1/4 mile queue will be busy on Sunday [emoji57] . So I'll probably give the 1/4 a miss and actually catch some of the "show " instead this time [emoji6]

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Had a Audi /bmw driving experience in the scoob. ...... As my indicators decided to stop working on the way back from the shell garage [emoji16] . Luckily enough I managed to get home via a route that only consisted of left hand turns [emoji23]. Only to find my jdm fuse box diagram is (strangely ) in Japanese [emoji55] . Found my old UK turbo's fuse box lid and it's sorted now [emoji6] .

First timer. Hawkeye blew up on way home
That does seem a bit low and hot for this time of year but I can only compare it to 2ltr . Which has a cool running rcm stat, rcm oil pump and thicker 10 60 nano drive oil ,so not a very good comparison tbh . Mine is 2.8 bar hot idle (95°) 7bar cold start . But yours being a 2.5 ltr engine (avecs ?) And probably having a vf turbo banjo bolt (restricts the oil a bit ) would probably read different. I'd check the old oil and cut open the filter to look for debris when changing it . Hopefully someone who has a gauge on their 2.5 or knows what the standard 2.5 pressures should be will chip in .

Should've gone with em stants [emoji57]

Broken down
Mine wouldn't let me in without the alarm going off , let alone start the dam thing . I was booked in at a airport car park to go away in 2 days . He had the alarm siren off and car started within a minute even without a working fob . Then fitted the new one in a couple of hours [emoji41]

Wheel bearing/abs
I'm unsure if any year outback has a abs ring ,as I've only ever owned classics but it might be worth checking out. If you need to get the wheel bearing done they'll soon see if the abs ring is fubar too .
-
Broken down
Glad it's up n running again [emoji41] I think my alarm was about £220 fitted ,Thatcham, hidden switch and a built in turbo timer . He's a mobile fitter but I think he only does Essex n Suffolk areas
-
Wheel bearing/abs
Unsure what year your outback is or if they run the same type of abs but on some classics the use a abs "ring" . The abs rings do tend to get brittle and crack , mine fell apart when changing a wheel bearing. So if they do run the same abs system it could well be the abs ring that's broken giving you the noise and code .

What are peoples opinions on this?
You might have dodged a bullet if the company has gone bust ,if there was a issue with the car you'd have had nowhere to take it back too [emoji6]

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Thought about driving the scooby to go and price up a job ...... But I spent most of last Sunday polishing it for japshow and don't wanna get it dirty cos it's been raining [emoji23]

Broken down
Have you checked the relay out put towards the pump ? (Break in the wire ? ) Cam n crank sensor loose or corroded plugs ? As it will turn over but not start if their not plugged in . Although I was fairly sure that removing the cam or crank sensor cuts spark not fuel (might be worth checking though )

New member, Impreza Sti hatch, security ideas?
Yeah a old phone would work too [emoji106] I do like the added benefit of being able to imoblize the engine and set a alarm off inside the car with a touch of a button [emoji6]

Impreza gb270 advice please
I do under 5k a year in classic and although it spends a lot of it's time in bits it's normally through choice . I dare say you'd be hard pushed to find another gb270 with milage that low and maybe in that good a condition . So maybe it's worth that and might be worth even more in 10 yrs if kept in the same condition. I think a spec c or jdm sti would put a bigger grin on your face though
-
Impreza gb270 advice please
Although it looks like a nice , clean and tidy example of a rare ish model ...... It is basically a 2.5 wrx with different trim so I'm not sure if it demands spec c money. But I'm a classic man myself and would probably invest in a p1 or type r . As good clean examples seem to be going up in value rather than down like the newages [emoji6]

big power! whats needed?
Dunno about off the shelf but plenty will build a block to the spec you want You could try emailing mick (ex api engine builder) http://rmperformance.co.uk/ He might be able to point you in the right direction [emoji6]

big power! whats needed?
You could probably buy the engine components and get the machine work done for 4k but that's if you build it yourself. Turbo , injectors and fuel system 2.5 k . Clutch and drive train 3k . Ecu and mapping 1.5 k Brakes 1.5 k . Pluck a figure outta the air for labour to build and fit everything probably another 6k I wouldn't expect any change from 16k to buy most things new and get it all fitted .
