  1. I had a front cv fall apart on my uk turbo . It will move but I had to nurse it at 2k for the 3 miles home . It made a hell'va noise and I was lucky it didn't fubar anything else tbh . It will probably wind your central diff up and you'd be better off fitting a new one asap imo .
  2. I was just curious with the flywheel figures, as I don't often look at the whp. I bet it pulls a lot nicer now on boost [emoji41] And that was a bargain price with good gains , nice darts [emoji106]
  3. I follow the sat nav [emoji55] Cos I'm rubbish with directions lol Its mainly staying on the a14 past bury St Edmunds and Cambridge [emoji6]
  4. Nice work , I bet you're chuffed [emoji41] What was the flywheel figures fella ?
  5. 19th you mean Monday ? that's fine be Tuesday the 20th I will book it once I've booked it though I can't add more as it's so late. I will have one pass spare though that I know of. Just incase anyone books a ticket and not a pass but wants on. And yeah pretty sure it £25 for the pod 4 goes but huge wait times. Most our guys don't even see much of them on the stand as they're all in line waiting. Soz gambit Friday the 23rd (my bad ) I'll pay up over the weekend im sure she'll be ok .[emoji55] If not I've had my engine out ,back in ,found that I hadn't fixed the oil leak I took it out for in the first place [emoji36] [emoji35] [emoji30] ,Then back out ,fixed and back in and running within a day [emoji23]
  6. I was gonna wait until next Friday evening (19th) before booking my ticket ...... just in case the old girl goes bang on the dyno Friday morning [emoji16]
  7. Glad you got it sorted sandy [emoji41] I guess you'll sleep well tonight knowing that you'll be on the dyno tomorrow [emoji23] Best of luck with the best bang for buck mod (remap) and I hope you get the figures you're after bud [emoji106]
  8. No problem ,bud . A leak Anywhere between maf and where the inlet manifold connects to the heads , could show up a maf or map code . It could be the new intake pipe allowing more air in than the stock one . As someone fitted a new intake pipe to their newage sti and although it ran fine, after 2 days they had a eml light come on at start up . It's now been remapped and the light has not come back on but classics do tend to be a bit more forgiving when it comes to minor breathing mods . Hope you suss it and keep us posted [emoji106]
  9. Hi n welcome , what model is it and has it been mapped or modded? It could be a air leak between maf and map sensor . As this would make the ecu see a difference in the air measured between the air filter and inlet manifold. Although I would expect that to show up more under boost than cold idle. It might be worth a visual check for perished vac lines and cracks in the intake and tmic y pipe .
  10. Yeah I know bud [emoji106] But I bet alyn probably did your cdb inserts for scooby clinic and if anyone knows if there's a correct way to re sleeve a block without the new liners coming loose, it's alyn [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  11. I'm sure your's will have handbrake shoes inside the centre of the discs, even though it's got pads for "peddle braking " If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  12. Speak to alyn @ Asperformance he does a lot of the cdb inserts for most scooby engine builders , so would probably be able to point you in the right direction [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  13. Mine just touched the calipers without spacers , so there's about 2.8 mm of clearance with the cheap spacers fitted . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  14. Standard headers normally have heatsheilds attached but if they've been removed I'd heat wrap them . As they're very close to the sump and oil filter , plus it helps keep bay temps down. I normally use the titanium wrap with stainless steel cable ties , it's just off ebay (can't remember the seller ) They're a lot easier to wrap off [emoji106] Import car parts for genuine gaskets . Manifold to head gasket × 2 And manifold to up pipe x1 If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  15. Yeah, I wasn't being picky I've just never heard the terminology before . Also The classics have got "LH" on the underside of the left head and I suppose you can guess where "RH" is [emoji39] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  16. Dunno if it's common practice but I was advised to leave the cams out over night and re check the final torque setting the next day (to let everything settle) When I did use boost to start off with it was just low down in the Rev range . Also "engine braking " a lot helps with the bedding in process . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  17. Nice work [emoji106] Don't forget to check all the gearbox driveshaft, prop and diff drive shaft seals while it's out . As they're only about £15 each and you'll be gutted if they leak once it's all back together [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  18. I'm running "happy shopper" 3mm spacers so my brembos fit under my rota boosts [emoji55] I've done about 4k mls without any issues, think they were £12 from a local "motomainia" shop . I wouldn't use them any bigger than 3mm without longer studs . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  19. Cylinder 1 and 3 are on the drivers side , (right bank) but I'm unsure what side is ment by "bank 1 " . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  20. Had some shiny scooby scraps turn up [emoji41] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  21. Might have a vac leak from the boost gauge pipework. Search for the classic self ecu code check on here . It will enable you to read the codes and reset the ecu [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  22. Near colchester ,bud . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  23. Dunno if your model is on there but here's a few free pdf files that I used for my classic build . http://ken-gilbert.com/impreza-manuals If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  24. At least you only paid £1.5 k for it , so you can probably spend £2k on it and still have a bargain [emoji41] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
  25. I've got a 3" cat back with a 2.5" downpipe flange ,so it mates up to a standard length and size downpipe. £50 collected from Suffolk If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
