  1. welcome shaun, well the subaru is a ideal car for the events your thinking off, Engines are cheap enough now and can be changed in a day if your fast with tools and got the knowlegde You would prob be best off looking for a crappy shell classic uk turbo i would say, near as standard as possible! wagons are a bit cheaper (same floor plan etc just a bit bigger boot vertically) plus they are better in every way possible (not biased) Engines: Well the uk is known for being a weaker engine, I have ran em at 340-350bhp which is what the limit is really on the gearbox, the gearbox in your case might be the best upgrade! you can change the box and driveshafts to a stronger sti unit for a few hundred quid. BUT if you got a cheaper car there are loads of nice spec cars being broke, for instance you can pick up a running 2.1 stroker for about 12-1500 quid! or a decent forged sti block for under a grand with a closed deck block! After market parts workd is endless, Anti roll bars and suspension need to be upgraded tho! whiteline, cusco, bilstein do a lot of products and some by CDF racing are ok too!
  2. I only seen them in pictures and no idea mate , think they are quite useful But You can get a app these days and a bluetooth adapter for under 40 quid
  3. I have that amount cusco parts I have they should give me them free
  4. The ecu I would be more worried about , if someone has stuck a superchip in or the likes I would be ripping that out ASAP
  5. If it's a classic engine with wrong turbo and you don't know what management it's running would be a good start to find out so you know what you can do It don't take much for these engines to blow or have a hissi fit
  6. If your not into tuning I wouldn't worry about it or take it to a specialist for a diagnostics check over
  7. Electric adjusting classic crystal headlights No major marks or scratches £55 delivered
  8. Yeah alkatek can run different boost levels I've never had it , maybe maf dying or leak in boost , or up pipe has split Restrictor pill needs changing maybe
  9. What ecu has it got ? Who remapped it is crucial if it's modded Uk model ?
  10. Uk / Wrx can take about 350 bhp Sti can take a tad more on the gearbox Common faults are rust and rot around the arches and inner wings , cambelt is about every 40/50k I think but I do mine every 2 years ( and I only do 1k a year in it ) Badly modified and abused models are easy to spot If getting a import check its been mapped for uk fuel
  11. Basics like fuel pump , panel filter , 3 port post solenoid , good plugs
  12. Yeah I've pretty much upgraded everything Brakes Anti roll bars Turbo Anti lift kit Suspension Poly flex Bushes
  13. http://bbs.scoobynet.com/subaru-parts-451/1012010-godspeed-335mm-big-brake-kit-for-a-classic.html
  14. Yeah it uses the existing 4 pots then 330 discs I think
  15. I like the Godspeed set up , but bigger and decent set up Brembos are about 400 quid ! Godspeed cN get for 250 ish
  16. 143k that's anout 75000- 80 000 miles yeah ? Is it standard Rough guess if it's really tidy I would say between 2750 - 3250 ?
  17. Some people call it a Wrx sti or just a sti there is no difference !! Ask the purists they won't call it that , Dvla ***** up all the time and put sport or what ever they think is nearest! Only issue you might have is resale
