  1. And now some dodgy subaru owner called Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Well at least you didn't have the same problem my mate had with his VXR, he had a petrol leak and. . . . Woomph! Toasted Astra anyone? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Did a load of testing last night on the ring and silverstone. All cars were within 1.5 seconds of each other on silverstone I think the legacies lost out on acceleration though they had the speed, the 22B is a tad loose which left it just off the pace all 4 of these cars were about 1.5 secs adrift. The others were all within .5 secs On the ring all cars were within 6 seconds of each other which on a 9min lap is nothing. All except the 2008 Impreza which was some 5 seconds off, yet was fine on silverstone so I think it's top speed it was lacking as the ring has a lot if straights. The legacies however ran well here. The S204 whilst as fast as the others was horrible on the ring poor handling but accel and top end seem to compensate. I think that's about it, they're not far off I reckon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Didn't drive mine at all today, though took the wife and dog for a walk in hers. Had to use Maguire's detailing spray to remove bird crap off it after I spent 3hrs washing and waxing on Friday. Birds are so inconsiderate! [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Testing car sat the minute,I still reckon the 1990 & 2010 legacies are down on power, they seem to run about 1.5src a lap off the pace, probably just need an extra couple of horses. Will also send over the 1990 legacy design again, the one in the garage is for the headlight pods, unless you get time to remove the blue circles off the bonnet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Wouldn't touch it myself, just stick to my Maguire's stuff, you know that will look good after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I'll be on but to be honest it might be a bit later than 9pm, just got back from walking the dog and doing some tea now. Might be a but ad hoc tonight. If I'm on I'll try set up a race for everyone else do we can test cars Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Car not moved today even though sunny [emoji30] Painting and decorating for me all day, just having a quick break, 6hrs straight so far, beer is calling so can't guarantee how I will be performing on track later [emoji79] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'll be on most weeks so I could set up the game if no one else is up for it. I'm on tomorrow and up for a test run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Whatever you do, do not use the gunk. You'll end up buying a new tyre over a £15 puncture. I was advised to just call recovery and get it dropped off at a tyre place or phone a mobile tyre chap, much cheaper than the £190 for a new tyre, as the tyre centre won't clean out the gunk they'll just get you to have a new one. 11. Wife hasn't got me a mic this week so im still mute, definitely next week though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. You'll need to tell me what body kit you put on each car so I can check the designs still work, different kits line up differently Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. What money? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Nope because you're not last Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. We'll I washed and waxed mine today, might gel the tyres tomorrow. Gearing up for a crappy drive to Teesside next week, that'll be 7hrs oft life I'll not get back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I have been told the XV has a "learning system" that adapts to how you drive, not sure if that alters the fuel economy or not. I think (though it could just be me) that how you run the car in can effect fuel economy and performance. certainly drafting wagons and maintaining 60mph will massively improve your fuel economy as the wind resistance is the big issue with a car this height. you won't get the best economy until its done 7 or 8k in mileage and possibly not until its had first service as it'll take a while for the engine to "loosen up" being a diesel. just don't try to drive it economical all the time as you'll risk blocking up the particulate filters. I have put the video up elsewhere on the forum but will pop it up here for ease, this was about 55 - 60mph though it doesn't look like it, it was very stable even at speed and over a yump on a bend.
  17. Problem is the less drama a car has in a bend the less exciting it looks. It does handle surprisingly well, not STi well but no problem out handling a chav corsa or Citroen Saxo. Doesn't make for a good video though, would probably be better off road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. As promised a short clip of me throwing my XV around a few bends, unfortunately despite the speed it looks pretty tame on video, but then it is a Subaru and despite the ride height and weight it sat really well. Happy days :D Thinking of investing in a really good camera though
  19. There's s good one where a guy leaves his handgun by his wife and she always fiddles with it even though he's told get not to, so he sneaks up behind her one day and sets off a fire cracker. Hilarity follows as she pretty much wets herself Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Will see if I can get on later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Glad you found the XV, we stumbled across thenXV at a game fair. Now we have 2, a white and a dark grey, both SEs. The reason you'll not get the economy I'm getting us you didn't run it in. Ex demo cars will not have been run in quite as diligently as a car you own that has 20 odd miles on it. If you run a car in with fuel economy in mind you can improve the long term economy. That and drafting lorries up the M6 helps, improves your fuel economy by upto 30%. I generally drive super economical on the outward journey and then have a bit of a play on the way back. Keeps the DPF clean, you get to play and you still keep good economy. If you set up a fuelly.com account you can track your long term economy easily. You'll be in the top 3 or 4 XVs worldwide with the economy you're running. If you set up an account send me a friend request I'll pop a short vid of mine on the way home yesterday through some tricky bends at pretty high speed. They're are surprisingly stable for a 1.4t vehicle with that ride height Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Averaged 62 mpg including a thrash home, car said I'd averaged 78 on the way out. [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. If she definitely doesn't want a subaru the Kia sportage gets pretty good reviews as does the skoda yeti as long as you don't look at them as they're both pretty ugly. If you want 4x4 you'll struggle with the Qashqai unless you buy a top end one. Plus pretty much everyone has a Qashqai which would concern resale value if the market is flooded with them. I'd possibly look at the Kia sportage, they do a 1.6 I think. The sportage is the better looking of the 3 Tell her to say Qashqai every time she sees one on the road and she'll realise they're as common as muck, might put her off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. You've got a boobtube!! Sorry my mistake[emoji39] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I'm good with the cars as they are, braking would be nice. If there's a wish list I think all cars should have race brakes and street gearboxes just so you can make sure you don't hit the limiter on straights etc. I think most have the gear box. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
