  1. Can't answer that not having an Impreza and certainly not an STi. You can work around it by getting a pencil with a rubber on, must be a new one. Use a hole punch on some fine grit cloth and superglue it to the rubber, makes for a handy little sander that you can use in tight places. Also good for stone chips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If it's gone through the colour then you'll need to build it up and use 2 or 3000 grit paper to blend then use a clear coat to completely fill the scratch. If it's just the lacquer that's easier. Plenty of info on YouTube. Coloured scratch paste works quite well on light scratches. I've used Halfords paint pens before they're pretty good, get one with the needle as it's easier to place the paint precisely. Good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Washed, waxed, cleaned windows, interior. Cleaned and waxed wheels. Tyre gelled the tyres. All on 2 XV's, wife's dark grey one took the most time as you have to be perfect, you can be a little less careful with a white one. All this followed by a stiff back and achy arms. Off for a couple of beers (or 6) now as just found a load of Becks Vier cans in the fridge. Mmmmmmmm beer
  4. No idea what you're on about. Or maybe I snuck back into my post and corrected my predictive text anomaly
  5. I sat in my diesel yesterday at a set of lights which went from Two lanes to one. A Citroen Saxo pulled up with 3 lads revving the engine. I assumed they were going to try to beat me across the lights. Unfortunately they forgot the golden rule; subaru don't make many slow cars, even the diesel ones. I just pulled away whilst he sat there spinning and left him standing. He tried at 2 more sets of lights and after that just stayed behind me about 50yds back. Not sure why kids think because they've stuck on everything they can find in Halfords they think the car will be fast. And where the hell do they learn this idea that wheelspin is cool and makes you go faster. Unfortunately for them they made a huge deal about the fact they were going to blow me at the lights. You should never count you chickens too early Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. If he's not looking at you then you're not there. His problem solved
  7. Oh that's a shame on a nice afternoon, having to go for a drive, bet you're gutted
  8. Its actually quite sophisticated for the £24 it cost. You have a few options, you can either record in 10min segments (will also do 5 or 3 mins) and it will keep recording those segments until your memory is full. what I do is put it on cycle, it records 2 10 min segments and continuously overwrites them until it either detects an impact or you can press a button and lock the current segment and it'll start a new 10 min segment. but if you wanted to record a journey you'd just record unit memory full. I got mine from HERE they're actually £1 cheaper than when I bought it last week
  9. As promised I've uploaded a vid from my really cheapy cheap dash cam. At £24 its not cinematic quality but it will show who's fault an accident is when that Audi pulls out in front of you and you hit the back of him, or in the case of this video the "nice" lady in her Mitsubishi who decided she didn't need to look out of rather traffic. If you want one its dinky, I've mounted mine behind my rear view mirror. £24 from Amazon its an EPrance, comes from somewhere Eastern Europe Anyway here's the clip (1:10 is where the nice lady tried to damage my beloved Subaru)
  10. Well I'm on my way back, just parked under Umber Bridge avin me lunch. When in Rome . . . Will be glad to get home though and use my "H's" again
  11. In that case I'll pronounce it hull
  12. Ever since I've had an iPhone can't imagine having anything else. Plus we've got bother stuff that is Apple. Used to have Nokias before as they were simple to use and virtually bombproof Think I'll be cleanings car as I got to go to Easington tomorrow so will probably get grubby ( and that's just driving through Hull)
  13. Just as a complete random shot, I haven't been listening to music last few days in car, been on Rhod Gilbert's best bits from his radio Wales show, quite funny what crap they talk about. Takes the mind off being sat on a closed M6
  14. It is a 5s had a run in with O2 as well so got a stunning deal. 5GB data, free phone, texts and calls £36pm. Only just had my number ported so this is my first post on the new one
  15. Got a new iPhone, decided on a white one to match the car, just need to mount it inside now so it looks nice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The XV is sort of outside the box but it's still basically an Impreza just on steroids. I think the wife fancies a Foz so might end up getting one of those when her car comes up for renewal. I would have an Impreza sporty type but I go onsite a lot and got the XV after repeatedly smacking the underside of my Civic I had. Shouldn't ever hit the underside of this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Doesn't have quite the same appeal as the sports subarus, never seen a tribicea. Will have to look at one of those on tinterweb Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I get comments like "what is that, I've never seem one of those" sometimes from Subaru owners. Usually from people that bought Nissan Qashqai or similar and are starting to wish they hadn't. Oft be get a comment along the lines if "I wish I'd known about this before I bought (insert generic SUV)" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Be getting plenty of air in at 3.0bar though eh?
  20. The XV bit will be quiet but the SOC forum as a whole is busy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I had an interesting race, I was flying, some 5 secs ahead of gambit who was about 2000ft infront of nick, then in the space of a bend, nick is 100ft behind me and gambit is about 4000ft behind nick. I pressed on and my car suddenly exploded and I went spinning off the track, I saw nicks car who was several hundred ft back at the last bend rolling down the track. I got going and passed nick who was on his roof. I'm still pushing on as I can see gambit catching me, nick is way behind now as he's on his roof. Gambit gets within about a 1000 ft, no one had passed me and I suddenly notice in now in 2nd about 2000ft behind nick, inevitably gambit catches me just before the line as my car is stuffed. What the hell was going on I went from 2000ft in front to last in the space if a lap and only got passed by 1 car, and got beaten by a car that was stuck on its roof. I'm glad we gave up I was struggling with reality at that point
  22. You think you're old school? My first console was a Binatone Deluxe games system with Pong etc (though thats not a game era to return to, because the games were crap) My first proper console was an Atari 2600 and I got addicted to Yar's revenge. Binatone console (one of the first home entertainment systems) Yar's revenge on Atari 2600 Now that's old school
  23. Washed and hoovered both XVs, got wet, wife's aim is either a) not very good because she kept missing the car, or b) very good because she kept hitting me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
