  1. while driving around Putney (South London) area we had some head turners
  2. is the mileage not stored in the ECU?
  3. have had a couple my self; L200 & Hilux. they are workhorses and may be better for the job you do? but they will drive like trucks (as they are) and are bigger. i did found that the tub by times wasn't that practical as they are actually not that big. especially when transporting long things. me with a Ranger
  4. yep, yep, costs; as copper is more expensive then metal in most cars these braided ground straps are way to small and putting more strain on the battery. it's a good mod to change them for thicker and better ones
  5. comes about 20 years after some other countries... never understand why to have some stupid paper on your windscreen to show tax paid since a simple check of your licence plate should come up with all details needed; insured?, tax paid?, MOT done?, owner?...
  6. due the rain all day.... washed my car :)
  7. checked the AirCon pressures
  8. hmmm, did i say Toyo's :o OK OK working hard on that to get SWMBO out of her Rav4
  9. no idea as they were already fitted when i bought her back in Australia my03 Forester XS had SLS but changed them to normal struts from Ultima (Australian brand) as one SLS was shot. previous owner used her lots in the Outback :o
  10. it's my second Forester and still get a :) every time driving her...
  11. good luck with your Pedders make over, mine does have Pedders too on the rear when i bought her
  12. why not temporary install the cam behind the car while driving around
  13. is that K&N air filter dipped in oil? if yes this can create problems.
  14. these valves are known issues but as yours is a 2008 it'm a bit confused as Subaru did modified them since 2007 due this corrosion problem. they made some parts from plastic to prevent corrosion. now yours is a TX what means your ECU is programmable with the possibility to disable the dreaded valve codes and remove these valves all together to prevent any issues in the future. this system is only used for about 40sec when starting from cold to inject air to warmup the cat quicker.
  15. cleaned the sun roof drains as winter (rain) is approaching :o
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Forester
  17. ding dong, yes indeed. i can still get mud out when knocking on the side skirt :o i might even remove them to see how bad it is but i'm afraid to break the clips so i hold on for now
  18. when buying second hand i don't care about the colour as long the rest of the car is in good order IMHO
  19. it's the RMP's what's important not really the gear you are in, diesels do have high torque at low rpm fuel filter might have a tap to realise water at the bottom of the filter but i'm not familiar with the Subaru diesel engine
