  1. a remap should be done by someone that knows what they are doing with subarus, they will set it up to it's optimum. some blobeye WRX's can get 285-300bhp with a remap and a supporting mods. mine would only get to 265bhp, but the low down punch was great. don't worry about top end BHP, it's all about the midrange :D
  2. you won't gain much running it at max PSI, the max it will run is about 16/17 psi, but the higher the PSI the hotter it runs, so warms the air up, so no increase in performance. a remap will got to about 15 PSI and give decent gains, but also look at good air filter, free flow exhaust, decat up pipe. All these will help the flow of air through the engine it's not all about PSI, it's about air flow and efficiency. A little turbo running big PSI and verging on inefficient or a bigger turbo running sensible PSI flowing more air and in it's efficient range
  3. Sorry I was late, but at least I came. See you all at the next one Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  4. There will still be quite a few going, it's normally a good turn out even with poor weather. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  5. Hi mate welcome to the club car looks great B) is it standard or modified? have you got any mods planned?
  6. I upload to youtube and then use the video editor, you can use the 'trim' button to shorten videos too also, if you want to display the link on here as a video not a link. copy the video link from the address bar at the top, then when you reply, click the 'paperclip' in the top left (above 'bold') and then just paste the link, then click the 'paperclip' button and add text
  7. don't think low oil will put the CEL on have you got 'romraider' to have a look at the fault codes?
  8. 800 miles already, what do you think to the drive and feel of it? 50mpg is great, I don't get that many when I freewheel downhill
  9. hi mate welcome to the club
  10. I'm taking family and was thinking of just parking in car park and walking round. I didn't want to have to get them up too early. But yesterday my 11 year old was playing football at school dinner time, a lad thought it would be funny to try and break his leg. He went for a tackle, but 'missed' and hit hit my sons knee with his foot and put my son on the floor. We were in hospital for 10 hours and he has now got a full leg pot on, he has got to see a knee specialist next Thursday, but it looks like he has torn his ACL and vertical tendon :(
  11. if it is brand new and you are wanting to protect the paint on the bonnet and bumper, one thing to consider is having it wrapped in clear film. It gives good protection and can be replaced cheaply and fairly easily. if you just mean a good polish and protector try Dodo juice, not cheap but gives good results
  12. hi mate welcome to the club one mod with good returns is a custom remap, usually cost between £300 and £550, but you should go from 265bhp to about 340bhp :)
  13. Not sure yet Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  14. I'm going :)
  15. great pics Chris but £20k for a camera :o :o :o
  16. it's getting there, what turbo will you be using?
  17. nice one, hope that's sorted it :)
  18. It should fit straight onto the standard downpipe If it's a cat back system you won't need a remap Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
  19. hi mate welcome to the club looks nice and clean B)
  20. hi mate welcome to the club
  21. 380bhp/400lb should be ok as long as you don't launch it, fast starts are ok as long as you get biting point first (best way to think about it is- if you stand a foot from a wall facing it, put your fist against the wall, then extend your arm and push yourself away as fast as you can. now try again, but leave a 6" gap between fist and wall......) that's what kills gearboxes
  22. I remember hearing lads at school talking about rallying in 1990, but it was mainly Audi Quattro , Integrale, Celica (Carlos Sainz legend), GTI-R (Stig Blomqvist). then the year after they were talking about colin mcrae in a legarsey. then in 1993 burns and mcrae in the 555 Impreza
  23. hi mate welcome to the club the XV is a good choice, most owners on here give high praise and are more than pleased with them. most of the reviews are written by critics that will compare them to BMW/ Audi/Lexarse/etc that they have driven in the last couple of months (and twice the price)
  24. hi mate welcome to the club car looks great B) engine wise - what power do you want? the gearbox will be the weak point point, the hawk has the strongest 5 speed, usually rated up to 380bhp, but some are still running fine with 400-420bhp. it depends how sympathetic you are and if you ever launch it. I would keep with the std 2.5 size and aim for 360-380 bhp and over 400lb torque, that will make a fast road car (smaller, punchy turbo) you should still get ok fuel economy too with 550 injectors (they are big enough for 420bhp+) @3.5 BAR
