Cost of Service
do services on age, unless mileage is reached first fluids deteriorate with age and need replacing to continue performing like they should and giving full protection. my cam belt is 60k miles or 5 years. I've just had it done because its 10 years old. I only do 3k miles a year, should I swap it again in 5 years or will my new cam belt be ok for 20 years????

I was interested in coming to this, it looks like a good day out, but.......

hot rear brakes
they shouldn't be getting warm, they only do about 20% of braking, the fronts do most of the work. It sounds like something isn't right, and the pads are touching the discs while you are driving no one has asked this but - do you do any handbrake turns? use the handbrake instead of the foot brake?

After a year of ownership im leaving
hi mate only just seen the thread, sorry to see you go, but when needs must. mickmikmike had to sell his JDM blob (one of the best I've ever seen) when his business was failing and short of cash. I'm sure you will be back :)

Noobie 2007 wrx wagon owner
Hi mate welcome to the club as said, the std air intake is usually better than CAIK, 'green' panel filters are good too If you do fit an STI top mount, have it on a rolling road to check everything is ok. personally, I'd only fit a bigger intercooler if I had a remap too

Blobeye sti wing fitment
I think the front wings are the same with saloon and wagon. The bonnets are alloy, but the wings are steel

Dashcams, show us your view!
that's some serious lane hogging I think when you have a dashcam, you become more aware of stupid/inconsiderate drivers. Also, with a dashcam I drive more cautiously as well. if I am involved in an accident, I want the footage to show I wasn't to blame and was driving sensibly (as my accident, if I had been tailgating him down the hill and there was a similar bump, it wouldn't have been as clean cut/obvious that he was fully to blame)

Dashcams, show us your view!
lol I like watching vids, but when someone puts a thread on 'can't believe this happened earlier' and then post a 20 min video and expect you to sit and watch the full thing and try to guess what they were so shocked by

Replacement Key Saga
a mate bought a car that only had one key with it, he had key insurance with his insurance. he went to the local shopping centre one day and 'lost' his key, he claimed through the key insurance and they paid out over £250 and he got a replacement key.

Big end or little end?
how much fuel did you have in? it's not advised to do a lap with less than 1/4 tank, preferably 1/2 tank minimum, or can get detting from fuel starvation have you got a top mount? they aren't very good at more than 90 as air goes straight over bonnet vent, so intake temp can rise and cause detting what revs were you using?
-
Twin Spark
they can be used in any car, they just have a chance of giving a good spark. the mixture only needs one spark to ignite and burn almost instantly, so no benefit from 2 sparks

plan A is dead, long live plan B
that graph looks great, 400lb at 3k rpm B) looking at the big shiny parts, the conrods look very manly

My blobeye hates petrol stations
it's more common that people realise, it's to do with RF interference from the automatic door openers, some also use mobile phone signal blockers to stop people using their phones in the petrol station. some people get it in supermarket car parks (near the doors), but most people don't/can't park close enough for the interference to be an issue
