  1. You can put me and missus_gr7 down as a maybe, It's a long way for me to drive. Might organise to go camping over the weekend then pop along on the Sunday before heading home at midday.
  2. Hi Tim, Thanks for the help,. What do you mean by "paying for specs you dont need?" I don't really mind paying a few extra quid if it's beneficial for my engine. Would this shell oil be a better alternative? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68976-shell-helix-ultra-5w-40-fully-synthetic-engine-oil-recommended-by-ferrari.aspx Thanks.
  3. Gonna get some stick for this, but I nipped into a kwik fit today.... Have had a slow puncture for ages and i needed them to replace the a valve... They did, took about ten minutes and he didn't even charge me. Happy Days Fingers crossed its sorted now. oh, I also ordered some new lights. Some Philips w5w's - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261595643411 some Philips h7's - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Subaru_Legacy_2.0_2006/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/lighting1/car-bulb/?48177022P&1&32da352f4bdffdbea28ab4f570b222c71f553663&000384 FYI, Eurocarparts have a "sale" on at the moment. You can also get an extra 5% off with code "EXTRA5"
  4. Hi, I'm not sure whereabouts in Manchester you are... but these guys are in Buxton (down the A6) and i've heard good things about them. http://www.autotecnica-subaru.co.uk/
  5. Hi tim, what oil would you suggest for my legacy, 2.0 non turbo? The manual suggests 5w-30, but i notice you tend to recommend 5w-40? I was looking at Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W-30 Premium Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, but i hear millers nano oil is often recommended? Any ideas? Cheers
  6. I dont own that piece of land mate, no idea who does. So i'm not sure what would be said if i had something big and heavy put there. A nice bench would be suitable lol. He's moved now, so I've pulled forward onto the path to prevent access to the gap. I look like a **** though, half parking in my bay but if it means said passat ****** cant block me in then I can justify my actions if the council have anything to say about it.
  7. that !Removed! vw has partially blocked my drive for the second time.... He is a bit further forward than last time. Parked behind him, so he will have to come and find me when he wants out. Doesn't look too bad in the pic. But i cant reverse in (so i can drive straight out) as there another car in the next bay (to the left of mine). I cant drive in, as i wont be able to reverse and swing out. Its awkward enough to reverse out without a car there.
  8. Anyone know of any decent H7's and w5'w's? One of my osram nightbreakers blew, so I chucked a spare bulb in. But i wanna replace them both now with something better, as I have one brightish headlight and a dullish and a dullish.. I looked at Philips extreme 130% bulbs. But at 25 quid a set seemed a bit steep considering the osrams are only 15 quid a set. Anyone got any suggestions?
  9. I use the same products mate. - I tend to give the alloys a good scrub first, - then wash and dry the car, - Then I used the autoglym tar remover, to remove any nasty tar spots before claying, - Then give it a good clay, takes a while but its pretty satisfying. - Then polish with the autoglym resin polish. - Then apply some Autogylm gloss protection. Same as the polish, apply and buff off. - Then give it a wax and buff off :) - Oh I swear by Rainx too, totally worth it!
  10. Just watching a bmw x6 doing a sixpoint turn in a car park. Lols
  11. Naawwwhhh still no snow :'(
  12. Looks like the snow is too far south for us mate. :(
  13. That rain could turn to snow though Stants. Least you have got a chance of snow! I miss the snow :(
  14. Its snowing in the Peak District, (according to my brother on facebook)
  15. lol hahah will remember that for next time. on another note... Is it snowing yet?
  16. I'd ask the garage (whichever you plan to use) how they are going to replace them and check that they are experienced with Subaru's. As some garages don't have a clue about Subaru engines. Before I got my legacy, the previous owner had it serviced and to change the plugs, they disconnected the whole engine and dropped it out of the bottom of the engine bay. The garage didn't put the engine back in straight and left the steering column hanging in the engine bay.
  17. Some !Removed! ****** in a passat parked on the end of my drive, blocking me in. !Removed! inconsiderate ******. left a note on his windscreen, "please be considerate when parking, as you have blocked me in! Should have added, "you typical inconsiderate passat driving ******!" He's !Removed! off now, !Removed! knob good job it wasnt a work day eh. lol rage over.
  18. I spent 320 quid on decent winter tyres, so cant wait!
  19. I !Removed! hope it snows! Had the subaru for about 10-11 months and still aint had the pleasure of driving in the snow.
  20. What about a non turbo 1.5 or 2.0, will be cheaper on the insurance n all that.
  21. Managed to get 40mpg on a run today :)
  22. Interesting thread. My legacy's on 97k and as it was bought as a cat D i've no idea of the service history and no knowledge of any previous work, however, I get alot of squeeling in 1st and sometimes juddering in slow moving traffic. So i do plan on replacing the clutch in at service/mot time In january. I've not even looked at subaru dealers and will no doubt go to Sheffield Subaru Service, even though its well out of my way it will probably be considerably cheaper than a main dealer.
  23. they look awsome mate, i wonder if they'd fit my legacy.
  24. looks like it sold for 4.485!
  25. One of my osram nightbreaker bulbs blew today, felt like a right knob driving home with one light... Couldnt see ****, so had to put my fogs on.... then realised I look like a fog light ******. :( luckily, i still had the old bulbs, so popped one of those in till i get some replacement bulbs.
