  1. Thanks for the replies chaps. Will go for it. Rick, I'm in the Hartlepool area, however, I'm Planning to get Martin+Dave to do it in Sheffield at service/mot time. Martin's worked on my car on two occasions so I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere else.
  2. Wooah, A sponge! A !Removed! Sponge??? ;)
  3. So, I'm looking at getting a new clutch+flywheel. Which is unfortunately look about 700-800 just for the parts... So I'm considering going for a single mass conversion? Something like this, which is considerably cheaper! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Dual-to-Single-Mass-Flywheel-and-Clutch-Kit-Legacy-Impreza-Forester-/191442877663?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ASubaru&hash=item2c92e27cdf, Just wondering what are peoples views on this?
  4. lol, surely that's a bit silly, buying a house near a motorsport racetrack and complaining about the noise. Bet its the same kind of people that buy houses near airports and complain too!
  5. Washed, polished n waxed the missus Astra today. I quite enjoying doing my legacy, but the astra just felt a bit plasticy n cheap lol.
  6. yeah maybe worth going into the store and asking, I think they have to keep the cctv for a good few weeks before its re-recorded over.
  7. im interested mate, whereabouts are you in the country? will have to check out prices of a refurb and get back to you mate.
  8. Do we have a date for the next meet? I'll be in the Peak District from the 23rd till 27th Jan if that is any use. All being well the legacy will be with Martin for the service/new clutch on the 26/27th anyway.
  9. ah i !Removed! hate that mate, gutted for you.
  10. sounds good mate, be nice if we could get a group camping the night before. Nothing better than camping+BBQ.
  11. You can put me and missus_gr7 down as a maybe, It's a long way for me to drive. Might organise to go camping over the weekend then pop along on the Sunday before heading home at midday.
  12. Hi Tim, Thanks for the help,. What do you mean by "paying for specs you dont need?" I don't really mind paying a few extra quid if it's beneficial for my engine. Would this shell oil be a better alternative? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68976-shell-helix-ultra-5w-40-fully-synthetic-engine-oil-recommended-by-ferrari.aspx Thanks.
  13. Gonna get some stick for this, but I nipped into a kwik fit today.... Have had a slow puncture for ages and i needed them to replace the a valve... They did, took about ten minutes and he didn't even charge me. Happy Days Fingers crossed its sorted now. oh, I also ordered some new lights. Some Philips w5w's - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261595643411 some Philips h7's - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Subaru_Legacy_2.0_2006/p/car-parts/car-electrics-and-car-lighting/lighting1/car-bulb/?48177022P&1&32da352f4bdffdbea28ab4f570b222c71f553663&000384 FYI, Eurocarparts have a "sale" on at the moment. You can also get an extra 5% off with code "EXTRA5"
  14. Hi, I'm not sure whereabouts in Manchester you are... but these guys are in Buxton (down the A6) and i've heard good things about them. http://www.autotecnica-subaru.co.uk/
  15. Hi tim, what oil would you suggest for my legacy, 2.0 non turbo? The manual suggests 5w-30, but i notice you tend to recommend 5w-40? I was looking at Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W-30 Premium Fully Synthetic Engine Oil, but i hear millers nano oil is often recommended? Any ideas? Cheers
  16. I dont own that piece of land mate, no idea who does. So i'm not sure what would be said if i had something big and heavy put there. A nice bench would be suitable lol. He's moved now, so I've pulled forward onto the path to prevent access to the gap. I look like a **** though, half parking in my bay but if it means said passat ****** cant block me in then I can justify my actions if the council have anything to say about it.
  17. that !Removed! vw has partially blocked my drive for the second time.... He is a bit further forward than last time. Parked behind him, so he will have to come and find me when he wants out. Doesn't look too bad in the pic. But i cant reverse in (so i can drive straight out) as there another car in the next bay (to the left of mine). I cant drive in, as i wont be able to reverse and swing out. Its awkward enough to reverse out without a car there.
  18. Anyone know of any decent H7's and w5'w's? One of my osram nightbreakers blew, so I chucked a spare bulb in. But i wanna replace them both now with something better, as I have one brightish headlight and a dullish and a dullish.. I looked at Philips extreme 130% bulbs. But at 25 quid a set seemed a bit steep considering the osrams are only 15 quid a set. Anyone got any suggestions?
  19. I use the same products mate. - I tend to give the alloys a good scrub first, - then wash and dry the car, - Then I used the autoglym tar remover, to remove any nasty tar spots before claying, - Then give it a good clay, takes a while but its pretty satisfying. - Then polish with the autoglym resin polish. - Then apply some Autogylm gloss protection. Same as the polish, apply and buff off. - Then give it a wax and buff off :) - Oh I swear by Rainx too, totally worth it!
  20. Just watching a bmw x6 doing a sixpoint turn in a car park. Lols
